TRUMP IS A See you next Tuesday

Why do you do this?
Because it needs doing.

Because no matter how bonkers we can all guffaw at Trump for being, he is no more bonkers than the establishment he opposes and which produced him: and we have accepted their madnesses with barely a whimper.

And those madnesses are inseparable from the situation that sees us poised on the edge of catastrophe and totally dependent on the American mentalist.

We are in a post-truth fantasy world and it is deadly. And Davos is one place where the witch doctors responsible for it, gather.

Don't stop laughing at Trump but for goodness sakes wake up to the much stupider leadership of our own continent who are only too happy for us to be distracted by the performing chimp.

I mean look at the picture this morning : our powers that be are not going to be unhappy at people hee hawing at Greenland being called a piece of ice, while looking away from what Trump said about Europe's self destruction and the ruinous and exploitative legacy of global capitalism.

Its all so easy.

Cant say Ive ever heard anything like that. Jumping doon @Bossie throat tho...
Its by definition. Reality / something either popped into being from nothing (a vacuum is very much not nothing) or it always existed in some form.

There is no initial cause to explain either way: nothing is absent any causal mechanism, it is nothing, while an eternally existing something has no initial cause, again by definition. It's not only that it can't be explained, there is nothing to explain.

Anyway we are forking so that's it for me unless a thread starts on the topic.

Bossie seems able to fend for himself, at least to me.

Shameless doesn't begin to describe it!

@Archie I've seen her several times and her almost robotic spinning of Trumps pish reminds me of the wee woman who is often seen doing the same about the Great Leader on North Korean news.

BIG G

I note she said 'written remarks'. So technically she's not lying, just being extremely disingenuous. Of course the written remarks are irrelevant - it's what he said that matters.

Your self-regard really is planetary in scale. Quite something to witness!
Mate, I know youre not a fan of people saying anything against EGB. I get it. But for him to say me that Bossie can defend himself (ie without help from me), is utterly bonkers, as that is exactly what he does constantly when he jumps in to defend a certain 3 or 4 bouncers. He literally does it all the time. You should really be directing your post at him.

Its staggering how you cant see this and just jump to his defence at the first sign of any dissent. I live rent free in yer bonce mate. Agreed, its quite something to witness!

You go round trolling or insulting folk though, indeed filling every other thread with it, and I don't

Globalisation has left us so exposed. About time it was seen for what it is, a national security issue.

"But for all the fighting talk, the paralysing divisions in Parliament speak for themselves. While the Hungarians have gone rogue, the Slovakians denounce Europe as “absolute losers”. One Lithuanian MEP suggested that Europe would be safer with Greenland under American control. The Germans – who have a car manufacturing lobby breathing down their necks – have been keeping a low profile, while its most eccentric representatives call for the abolition of Nato and reactivation of NordStream. In the corridors, the Spanish mutter to the Italians about their wine and olive oil industries being set alight to protect Denmark’s “hielo colonial” (colonial ice).

[...]

Many fear that the Commission is too cautious to follow through on the nuclear option. The reality has also dawned that while the EU can make the US hurt, the US can cripple the EU. The bloc’s reliance on the US for cloud computing and other crucial software means that Washington can “turn the lights off” in Europe. Indeed, one heavyweight trade negotiator suggested to me that the EU has struggled in its US talks in recent months because a lack of technological and military investments has left it with a severely weaker hand.

[...]

The EU’s conviction that it could be a major global power based on economic might alone has been unmasked as pure delusion. The Europhile blob has misunderstood not only the role but the nature of economic power in the 21st century. High on the hype of 1990s hyper-globalisation, the EU made the mistake of believing that it could reign supreme as a regulatory superpower. The “Brussels Effect” – whereby European rules inevitably evolve into the global standard – once inspired awe as a “natural law” of the global economy, inexorable as gravity; now even Europhiles morosely talk of this superpower being “long dead”. In other words, Brussels has woken up that it is not market size or legislative reach that counts."

behave. You're just describing yourself. Top troll.
I'm not though. I don't just pop up throwing insults or trolly one liners. I state my opinions and argue against ones I disagree with, which is kind of the point of the board. What I will do is call blatant rejection of facts for what it is: detachment from reality. But thats not an insult it's just describing what is being done.

And the disagreements are perfectly cordial other than with folk that misrepresent my words or start dishing it out. If you actually look at the board thats pretty true all round, regardless of whether I'm nearby.

There's a few folk that get wound up by things they don't like, and especially facts they don't like, and start spinning and me tooing and - in some cases - slagging folk off. Then others return fire. That's the pattern.

Having an opinion you disagree with is not trolling old chap.

Zelensky now calling Europe out at Davos - all talk, no action.
How about Mark Rutte for the next Nobel peace prize. I know Daddy would be pissed off with that.

I've no idea who was influential here tbh. Rutte, Macron, Starmer?

Rutte seems to be making a decent fist of a chaotic situation but as Zelensky says, it's still all talk no action thus far.

TBF he was addressing a room full of people who couldn't define a woman, and are substantially responsible for many others being similarly lobotomised.

Calling Greenland a piece of ice doesn't even register by local standards, where you can call a penis female.
Bizarre no?

Former presidential advisor explains what Greenland is all about and other Davos stuff. Draw your own conclusions - she is clearly sympathetic to some of Trump's agenda - but a rather more comprehensive take on interconnected warfare and geopolitics than you will get from the rags.

Trump withdraws his invitation tae Canada tae join his Board of War.

Something like 4m Englanders being denied local elections that would see Labour and the tories annihilated.

Denounced by the electoral commission, the speaker of the house and back benchers, though certain party apparatchiks will defend Labour and the tory's excuse - as if Trump won't have one.
Despite people taking this as an attack on The Party, this is a uniparty effort to as has been stated all along. Here is the tale of the tory tape.

Some of the background to the Trump regime's beef with Minnesota. Up to half of the $18 billion in Medicaid supporting various programmes since 2018 may have been pockled by predominantly Somali fraudsters - some reports suggests chunks of which ended up with Al Shabab, the Somali islamist butchers

Tim Walz the state governor, claims this 9 billion figure is made up, which I guess is entirely possible in today's America. But it's also pretty clear from reports in liberal sources and existing prosecutions that there is something pretty big afoot, it is in the billions, and in a state where Ilhan 'Somalia First' Omar's Somali empire is probably more relevant than old man Walz.

He has crossed the line now, if he hadn’t before, saying nato troops took a back seat in afghanistan . It looks like he’s trying to break the U.S.’s links with nato 🤷‍♂️

The man’s an imbecile Joe - though I wouldn’t say that to his face as he’d probably take it as a compliment.
