I think one a meme appears the person posting the meme has given up. I get quite a few of them.Did you really go to the trouble of generating that? 2/10

You are mendacious, so you can't complain about being called on it, with the reasons why pointed out. And it's not like it's occasional.Hold on. I've been called the c word, the f word, bitter, delusional, mendacious and that's just the nice stuff. So I'm less certain about any 'golden age'. But nobody has to take part - we're volunteers, not conscripts. It's probably reflective of the times.
TBF kind of true.I think one a meme appears the person posting the meme has given up. I get quite a few of them.
It's an opinion I guess, but it's hardly the spirit of intellectual curiosity and Socratic discourse is it? I find when people resort to that it's to shut down debate, not support it.The C and F word sounds especially harsh. The rest is just the truth is it not?
Only pulling your leg. It's an opinion I guess, but it's hardly the spirit of intellectual curiosity and Socratic discourse is it? I find when people resort to that it's to shut down debate, not support it.
For me the Bounce was always about substance
Thank you for that! But the general shutting down point standsOnly pulling your leg.
I agree with you there is too much of that. But consistently misrepresenting people, bad faith and using rhetorical trickery to try and argument-shift or misdirect isn't exactly socratic either.Thank you for that! But the general shutting down point stands
Was just a giggle Archie, I approach these wee spats with humour mon ami. Like you, I've been called all sorts but like mentioned, its just a fitbaw forum, we're all here for entertainmentI think one a meme appears the person posting the meme has given up. I get quite a few of them.
I thought it was great. It's completely obvious unless folk are incredibly literal minded or just at it, when folk are injecting a wee laugh or underscoring a point vs using something in lieu of having anything to say themselves. Was just a giggle Archie, I approach these wee spats with humour mon ami. Like you, I've been called all sorts but like mentioned, its just a fitbaw forum, we're all here for entertainmentmostly..!

As I say, we're all volunteers. No-one has any obligations here, though I would prefer it was civil! Was just a giggle Archie, I approach these wee spats with humour mon ami. Like you, I've been called all sorts but like mentioned, its just a fitbaw forum, we're all here for entertainmentmostly..!
I've been an admin on here for 20 years+ and have never barred or pulled up anyone in that capacity. Recently, over the recent past period there has been more high and mighty stuff in posts, you know the script, 'ignorant, drama queens, slave mentality, don't be silly, lacking in understanding etc, etc' on the last two pages on this thread alone may grate, as it does with me, as minor irritations. Stuff like personally being called a ' a Commie bowing at the temple of the mother country (Russia)' was not only daft, infantile and laughable, but so ridiculous to folk on here that a reply was not even necessary. I say to my good pal @SmurfThe fuckin irony.
The point is there's posters on here trying very hard to get folk to not say what they want.
Go out in the street and protest with the others.

who looks back at the good old days of debate on here why excellent, insightful contributers, who are still amigos of mine put there hands and basically said fuck this and never been on here since.
I spent innumerable hours in long written replies debate back in the day. No longer.
I let informative articles from my unashamedly Revolutionary Communist perspective do that. They actually do it better than me. To be fair I'm not alone amigos @EH17 Jimmy and @egb_hibs arenae shy in posting articles from the right wing Spiked or The Telegraph on a regular basis.
I don't don't speak for my excellent fellow Bounce admins here by the way.
Bang on and discuss. As nicely as possible. X

I imagine you consider yourself an intellectual ,articulate and informed individual. There are many posters on here that give their opinions and views in a more concise and relevant way.Any chance you might pick up on this and follow suit? The things you used to call me lol
Gordon I am sorry but the actual abuse on here - the insults, 'C words and F words', and all that, not to mention plain old anger - have been a one way street since day one, or at least since I arrived shortly after. Just as it largely is in the wider world
The things you quote - while ignoring the still regular plain old insults - are usually criticisms of actual behaviour, for specified reasons.
You do a great job of admin'ing uncoloured by your own bias - Scottish refs could learn from you - but biased you are, to a comical degree.
If anyone had the time, inclination and an honest eye, I guarantee you the pattern they would find on here is the right wing scum reacting with specific pops at rhetorical bs and evidence denying flat-earthism vs ad homs, misrepresentation, insults, and anger from the kindly ones.
Who are also those who turns attempts at debate into bunfights 9 times out of 10. Again that mirrors the world, where establishment lackeys - take note, not a c or f word and not an insult full stop, a specific criticism of behaviour - do this as they have always done it.
It doesn't bother me in the slightest on my own part - I'm more likely to be bothered on Archie's behalf, despite his own slipperiness which is the only trait that does irk me, when he gets abuse from the Wallace Willie's - but let's be honest about it.
Its the trivial end of what happens when various factions have absolute power: the kindly ones always kill everyone, and others mostly - though not always - don't
Not really. You aren't obliged to read my posts, it's entirely up to you. I'm not insulting or misrepresenting you, which you would have every right to complain. I'm here for two things : the craic (sadly much diminished) and proper debate, which can't always be done in a sentence or two. If folk want to pick up on anything I say, great, if not that's up to them.I imagine you consider yourself an intellectual ,articulate and informed individual. Including ever opposionist to Stalinist terror. You know the score and rage bait being your thing will surprise nobody on here. You read the whole article in less than 3 minutes. Congratulations.!These things are always slightly undercut when published under insignia of a movement that killed 100 - 150 million people and oppressed billions.
Rage bait? Honestly what are you on about?Including ever opposionist to Stalinist terror. You know the score and rage bait being your thing will surprise nobody on here. You read the whole article in less than 3 minutes. Congratulations.!

No comments on the article? Which you clearly never read before all barrels firing.Rage bait? Honestly what are you on about?
I know you like to contrive some distinction to do with Stalin, but Lenin and Trotsky put millions in the ground and set up the whole play book (and for the Nazis) to, and every single other Marxist state added its quota. L&T would btw shoot Findlay first, you second and me a distant third.
Didn't begin with Lenin and Trotsky either, same with all their precursors back to the French revolution and even beyond that. It's in the formula.
As you know, i am perfectly able to acknowledge the clear sighted analysis by communists, even if I disagree with their solutions. But they are de facto not credible the moment they start to moralise.
Donald Truml could be x100 the cnut he is and never get near the communist development squad.
I will read it in the morning G. The short comment I made and then expanded on in response to your retort, stands independent of the contents and whatever those contents are, will not alter that because it cannot alter that.No comments on the article? Which you clearly never read before all barrels firing.
To be honest I'm easy about that.

He is of course correct in the woke and DEI era. But whether that was an inevitable consequence of prior civil rights advances or the result of a mad new racist ideology is debatable to say the least.Back to Trump. You can rely on him to say the quiet part out loud.

Trump Says Civil Rights Led to White People Being ‘Very Badly Treated’
President Trump’s comments were a blunt distillation of his administration’s racial politics, which rest on the belief that white people have become the real victims of discrimination in America.www.nytimes.com

Fair enough eegie, I’ll take that on board. Hands up, I do sometimes caricature an argument to expose where I think it leads, and I get why that can feel like I’m swapping what someone’s said for what I think they mean. Sometimes it's more for humour like you say, others it's not. I’ll try and be cleaner about that, especially when things are already heated.I thought it was great. It's completely obvious unless folk are incredibly literal minded or just at it, when folk are injecting a wee laugh or underscoring a point vs using something in lieu of having anything to say themselves.
Take no notice KiGers, would be my take. I'll have a word with Smurf when we are back in the mouse hole
While we are all venting, the only thing that tweaks my beak is the post truth thing, whether replacing people's arguments with the argument the narrative says they should be making, or rejecting evidenced reality. It's just so dishonest and snide and - to use a very non pc reference - 'unmanly'. It's also a local example of a tendency that threatens to sink the whole show.
It just says to me that the user has no argument and knows they have no argument. Tbh I feel you sometimes do it though I think you do it more for sport: Trump-style, perhaps.
That's not quite the same but I still wish you wouldn't because given the pervasive use of it 'for real' it just becomes frustrating, especially when we have limited time to fix the world

Thank you, and what you say here is valuable. Because underlying my complaint is the charge that the carpet bombed narratives of our day set this up. It is their constantly reinforced messaging, I believe, that causes you to 'think' what I must be saying.Fair enough eegie, I’ll take that on board. Hands up, I do sometimes caricature an argument to expose where I think it leads, and I get why that can feel like I’m swapping what someone’s said for what I think they mean. Fair dos though I can't remember calling anyone here fannies etc. I think fannies in public events we are discussing are fair game, or at least wholly different. The reality charge comes in when evidenced reality is ignored - is not an insult like cnut it's a description of behaviour.Since we’re being honest though, there’s a couple of things you do that have a similar effect on folk, even if (I think) unintentionally. The name-calling, the 'fannies/fuckwits/bams' stuff, or the occasional patronising 'you don’t understand reality' framing; that shuts people down just as effectively as straw-manning does. And the 'you’re just clinging to the status quo/narratives of the day' line can land as dismissive rather than clarifying, even when there is a real disagreement underneath.
I think we’re both guilty, in different ways, of slipping into performance when the debate gets long and the stakes feel high. Probably human nature on a forum like this. I’d rather we kept calling each other on substance than scoring style points though, especially when, as you say, time’s short and the issues are big.
Anyway, meme was a laugh, no harm meant, and I appreciate you taking it in the spirit it was intended. Pinky & the Brain is 30 years old btw; yet another reminder of auld age!
Why? Personally, I tend to scroll through the endless one line inanities, which are usually sanctimonious "burns".I imagine you consider yourself an intellectual ,articulate and informed individual. Often it can be though aggs.I really don't see that "shorter, and with shorter words" is equivalent to "more concise and relevant".
He got a positive response from an audience of fellow multi millionaires. If he wants to help he should zip it as luvvies negatively effect things with this sort of stuff - people are done with being preached to by megarich primadonnas. It certainly got a positive response. I would however be watching my back if I was him, which is brave of him, the folk prepared to stand up to his actions are getting thin on the ground. Which is the Donald’s aim of course.
That's the opposition to Trump. Just against him but clueless to what they're actually for. Great actor but in recent times he's not half made a tit of himself. Who gives a fuck what he thinks anymore than the local plumber, estate agent, nurse or taxi driver? Though of course they 4 live in the real world unlike the actor...

... after reading yet another Trump apologist post in the Hibeesbounce cooshed @hibbybilly experienced a moment of lalochezia as a string of colourful words poured from his keyboard, resulting in everyone being called a *&*^Fuck off, leave him in his (well he thinks it’s his) little peice of the Bounce where he can bore Cvnts tae death wi his shite.
At least someone with a high profile global reach has said something. The way Trumps gangsters are, they’re probably sifting through thd family and ethnic backgrounds of everyone who cheered looking for any excuse to deport them.He got a positive response from an audience of fellow multi millionaires. Its hardly brave either in a Hollywood setting.

Mind though and be consistent and cheer on De Niro on Israel....
Yes, people don’t take well to being preached too. The Donald fits bang into your mega rich primadonna category don’t you think. He got a positive response from an audience of fellow multi millionaires. Indeed. Some were also radge *&*^.Some were good *&*^ though.
