I think most politicians, of whatever hue, would lead with something along the lines of: This is a tragic incident where a young woman has lost her life. There will be a full investigation and I would ask that people don't speculate on the details around this tragic incident. At this point our thoughts are with the family of the poor woman who lost her life.

Of course it matters. She was a human being cut down amid a spiral of militancy that has its origins in identity politics and no one giving a fck beyond their narrative.

It would matter whatever race she was. The fact that ICE deal mainly with Latinos is entirely unremarkable given that's the profile of most illegal migrants.

The fact that police get into more violent encounters with black people is also unremarkable as they are involved in far more violence, including against police. Like equivalent or greater than the male vs female difference.

Relative to to such encounters and levels of violence against police unarmed blacks are, BTW, less likely to be shot than unarmed whites.

Identity politics doesn't help anything and has killed many more than police violence has.

This is really worth a watch IMHO and explains what Greenland is all about. The Danish guy who is the first of three interviews is by far the least interesting so skip that if it's not grabbing you.

The clear sighted real politik and analysis of what this is about from the two women are much more interesting, including the suggestion that the most important thing here is domination of space... not in the sense of territory on the globe but up in the sky.

On a spinning globe the pole is a stable point from which to control space warfare which is the new frontier that will determine dominance tomorrow . Svalbard in Norway is already central for this, and it's one reason Chinese and Russian ships are crawling all over Greenlands waters.

I'll take no lectures on moral compasses from someone who circulates nazi theories.

We are talking about different things entirely. I'm trying, not always successfully I'm sure, to understand what is going on in the world, which doesn't seem to interest you at all. Like others all you seem to care about is maintaining a simple fairy tale that perhaps offers some comfort in a scarily complicated world.

I don't support or like Trump. It appears you literally cannot understand that is separate from trying to understand what is happening and why, and recognising that things don't fit into a simple black and white scheme, versus accepting cartoonish narratives presented by another set of fannies. It's a slave mentality, you're only picking one boss over another.

In the case of Israel, my preferred ideology somewhat aligns with yours. In the case a woman being murdered by some random ice maniac, I take a somewhat different view.

I mean in what way do you take a different view to me on the murder of this woman? Where do you hallucinate that from? There is not a single person on this thread that has said the ice agent was justified and as far as I recall everyone bar torto has been unequivocal that it is an outrage, including me, multiple times and from the beginning.

What actually happened here is you reacted in doctrinaire style, typical of the ideology which you do not in fact prefer, to a serious point about how the victim ended up in the situation and even after clarification, doubled down.

If I come across as arrogant, perhaps it's frustration at this lobotomised bollocks which extends to multiple people continually misrepresenting me (and others) to fit into their post truth worldview. And that kind of thing of course is the deep background to Trump, and thus these events, as well as the wider tragedy unfolding in the US and Europe.

Hold on. I've been called the c word, the f word, bitter, delusional, mendacious and that's just the nice stuff. So I'm less certain about any 'golden age'. But nobody has to take part - we're volunteers, not conscripts. It's probably reflective of the times.
