TRUMP IS A See you next Tuesday

FIFA banned Russia because of their shit. Ban the Shermans.

Now I've no dog in this fight!

But since when can you just rock up in a country...and kidnap the President?
With absolutely no Judicial process.

Imagine Russia did that with Zelensky.
Imagine the US invaded Venezuela and let loose squads of rapists and murderers on its population. What's your point?
Not the first time US has done it either.
Indeed it isn't, not that you would guess from some of the reaction
No coincidence that Venezuela have the largest resource of oil around too.
No Federal Bank.
Venezuela has a central bank. It is not called federal as in the US because the US is a federation and Venezuela is not.
Usarry is banned.
Also illegal / regulated in the US but a state legislature matter not the federal government
Banned sex changes
Banned pornography
banned abortion
Their abortion laws are basically unchanged since 1926 a quick search suggests, barring exceptions when the mothers life is at risk. Can't find any suggestion of these other bans, though they've not got on board with the gender identification mania. But then Trump has taken axe to that in the US so I'm not sure where you are going with this.
And several other coincidences.

Plus it really puts a boot into China.
In what way is China's regional ally in the Americas putting the boot into China, and why would that displease the US?
This is 100% not about drugs!
Its certainly not 100% about drugs.

That aside, what are you on about?

The Trump looks like he wants a world war by playing the peace god.
He is a very fucked up egotistical maniac.
All this he claims is because of drugs and democracy. The lies never end. It’s all personal for him.
Wife’s friend in the US is really resllyv worried about the state of the country and how he is destroying America, never mind what he’s doing outside the US.
Hes opened the gate for any mad bastsrd to kidnap a president or such and simply raise over a sovereign country!!
Just wow. The end results could be astronomical.
Regardless of good or bad in that country, The Trump is no idolised god, he just thinks he is

I like you would like to see a PM lead not react but I think the wider point here is Starmer is reflecting the reality of the situation on the ground at the moment - we are a near vassal state of the US - for various reasons but not least their likely retreat to the western hemisphere we need to cast off our dependency. I'm not sure any current UK or Scottish politician is recognising that - its a major problem
Quite. I wonder what people expect, not least people who would be outraged if we diverted resources into our own defence (and then could find any young people willing to defend us).

We are a silly, doddering, defenceless country, much like the rest of western Europe. This is entirely premised on the US protecting its geriatric ancestral countries.

We'll be doing fuck all because we have intentionally put ourselves in a place where we can do fuck all.

A vassal is exactly what we are and no one would oppose changing that more than those who complain loudest at the US.

In what way is China's regional ally in the Americas putting the boot into China, and why would that displease the US?
China has invested billions of $ in Venezualas oil infrastructure.
Im sure they may have a thing or 2 to say… No chance they stand back and let the US take over the country.
For what i know about the whole world affairs these days… this could be The Trumps most dangerous, which I’m sure we will find out very soon

Easy . There’s a few on here think he is the dugs danglies. He can do no wrong in their eyes and no lies in their ears.
It’s opened my eyes a fair bit!

Who are these mysterious people ? Afaik his only fan was Ryan who know deplores him as a puppet of the Joooos.

I really do wonder whether some of our progressive wing can tell the difference between what they would prefer to be the case and what is in fact the case. I genuinely do.

It doesn't come from what i have written, which goes exactly to my previous point.

Perhaps you have difficulty in distinguishing between thinking 'fat orange rapist hur hur' is a sufficient basis to foreclose on thinking about the world, and admiration for Donald Trump?

I hope not because that would be a rather tragic demonstration of the servile and post truth mindset so prevalent these days.

Whatever may be the case you didn't get the impression you note here from anything I have written. If you dispute that you presumably wont have difficulty quoting me in support of your point.

Tucker Carlson last month when he claimed congress had been briefed on an imminent war with Venezuela "There’s not been a regime change effort that’s benefited the United States or the world in 80 years that I’m aware of," he said. "And if there is, tell me what it is. I just don’t see any evidence of that. It all seems like a net loss for us." He went on to question the rationale for targeting Venezuela, suggesting that the real issue was control of the nation’s vast oil reserves. "If you want Venezuelan oil to go primarily to the United States, you want to have some influence over it. If you want American companies to extract the oil and improve infrastructure, yeah, probably the last thing you want to do is overthrow the government because then you have chaos, then you have total chaos, and who’s in charge?"

"Donald Trump ran and he repeated this phrase in his inaugural address a year ago—as the peace president. He’s funded a war in Ukraine, he’s funded genocide in Gaza, he’s funding a war in Yemen, he attacked the Houthis. Now he’s going to start a war in Venezuela. What do you think he thinks about?" Carlson responded, "You wonder, how much sovereignty does any Western leader really have? Which is to say, how much ability does any leader have to make independent decisions based on his campaign promises, what he believes, what he thinks is best for his country? You know, I don’t know the answer to that, but maybe less than we imagine."

Throughout the exchange, both men repeatedly returned to the theme of lost constitutional order. Napolitano lamented, "Where is the Congress? What the hell does the Congress do? Why does the Congress let the President set taxes, which he calls tariffs? Why does the Congress let the President kill people just because he calls them narco-terrorists?" Carlson echoed this frustration, observing, "As the system withers, the legislative branch becomes irrelevant. All power vests with the executive. Like this has happened to other empires before. Of course. Yeah, right. This is the Roman Senate."

Reuters also reporting that -
A large part of erstwhile President Nicolas Maduro's security team was killed in the U.S. raid that led to the leader's Saturday capture, Venezuelan Defense Minister General Vladimir Padrino said in a televised statement on Sunday morning. Padrino did not give an exact figure of casualities, but backed the declaration of Vice President Delcy Rodriguez as interim president and said the armed forces have been activated across the country to guarantee sovereignty.

You can’t blame them

I have neither the desire nor energy to trawl through your vast posts to find pieces where it comes over ( to me) that you have a sneaking admiration for the man. As I said before, you maybe do not realise how you come over.
Perhaps you have difficulty distinguishing this ( quite a disparaging line that don’t you think 🤔)

Let’s see if anyone else gets the vibes from you that I do. If I stand alone, I will 100% put my hand up and apologise for reading into something which isn’t there.

Trump gives China the green light to go into Taiwan.

Frantic attempts today to control the very confused messaging around Venezuela. Lots of walking back what Trump said yesterday. What a mess.
reminds me of the post Saddam plan in so far as there wasnt one - Rubio undermining Trump is an interesting dynamic - i wonder who is running things

I am quite sure you might find me-tooers come to your aid, for the same reasons as you, and which has been pointed out repeatedly. The post truth and simplistic, emotion driven narratives of today's left, rely on placing people into categories and sorting rights or wrongs based on them.

On almost any hot button topic of the moment we see it play out: some people try and look at actual events of the world in all their shades of gray, while the anointed stick to their fairy tales and cannot comprehend that the former could be anything other than the big bad wolf or his fans.

Its quite frightening to behold, especially as it never used to be like this before whole swathes of the population took the knee to boss class myths , and because it's exactly how things like communism and fascism happened.

You stick with your cba to check line. It's quite convenient I dare say, given you would have nothing to cite and indeed plenty examples of the opposite of what you would like to believe.

You seem to be assuming anyone is ;))

I suspect Trump just runs his mouth off in the moment and probably doesn't have the discipline to absorb his lieutenants plans anyway. So the actual thinkers behind his throne are in constant fire fighting mode trying to keep him in check. And that's assuming they have a plan to begin with!

You really do have a huge opinion of yourself. It’s breathtakingly patronising.

There's a difference between the man himself and the man that runs the country. I don't like Trump, never have, but I'd take him as president all day long over a Harris/Biden regime.

Its not so much I have a high opinion of myself as I have a low opinion of the rejection of reason and truth in favour of feelgood narratives.

Indeed I haven't referenced myself at all - other than I suppose than I am one of those who point these things out - and have talked of dynamics that are quite independent of me, and go on here and throughout our shambles of a society without any involvement from me.

You got us rolling remember, with your own condescending take on trump fan bois, which you have declined to explain. I have explained my position.

Chavez knew...

Trump: Colombia is also very sick. It's ruled by a sick man who likes to manufacture cocaine and sell it to the US. And he won't be doing that much longer, believe me.Journalist: So there will be a US operation in Colombia?Trump: That sounds good to me, yes.

What the Americans did there was wrong in so many ways. But many Venezualans seem happy he is deposed.

There probably is, I didnae see them celebrating in Caracas Jimmy, plenty folk protesting though.

I'm sure a lot of folk are wary of showing joy or despair because they don't know which way the wind will blow.
This is one of the issues with social media - it might be people celebrating or it might not. It can be difficult to untangle what images actually are. And of course bad actors spread fake stuff as we all know.

Iirc polling and electoral observers indicated two thirds of the remaining population tried to vote Maduro out, while a quarter of the population has fled. So I think it's fair to say that the large majority of Venezuelans will be pleased Maduro is gone. Whether they are happy about the manner of his deposing is another question.

Meanwhile there will of course be regime loyalists who are unhappy. Given they include the usual goons that surround latin American jefes, topped up with narco gangsters, the potential for them to turn ugly is significant.

If the Americans are wanting any credit from the population then work and wages needs to be sorted out pronto.

Yes, plus a return of power to the Venezuelan government.

No people is likely to tolerate occupation for long, no matter if it is improving things, and there is no guarantee of that.

This is generally the problem with liberal interventionism, which Trump is now aping in practical effect, even if he has different motives.

You can't nation build without colonial level investment for decades if not longer. The West does not have the stomach for this, and Trump's base especially does not have the stomach for it, indeed the failures of such interventions are among the very top of their hot button issues.

If his intention is to become jefe of the americas through the liberal method it is highly likely to spawn the chaos and bloodshed it invariably does. If he plans to go full colonial that would genuinely be shocking and doesn't seem remotely practical : he'd see a right and left wing revolt at home and would struggle to find the resources to do it.

The Russians have no such problems in places like Chechyna where they pulverise the place and install a local brute. They would no doubt do likewise in Ukraine if they could. China would be similarly unconstrained in Taiwan if the US gives them a free hand. But Trump can't do that either, even if he wanted to, which I doubt.

Tldr: depose the bad guy and produce another is the historical pattern.
