Love him or hate him, I firmly believe he's trying his best to do the right thing for the American people. He's done more in his first four months or so than Biden achieved in four years.

If the United States was being fronted by Harris and co, it would be an even bigger shit show than it's ever been.

His money was really important, not just donations to Trump, but the threat to fund primary challenges to Republicans who stand up to Trump may not continue. That could be critical.

He was never going to last, he's a globalist liberal pissed that one of his kids got transed and desperately looking for tariffs to help Tesla against Chinese competition. His agenda is completely incompatible with the national conservatives- for want of a better term - who are the center of gravity in Trump 2.0

Trump threatening to cancel contracts because his ego is bruised again takes no cognisance of the impact that will have on the country.

It shows the effective collapse of the checks and balances that Americans used to go on about. Turns out so much of it was 'gentleman's agreement'. Trump just ignores that and goes on his smash it up rampage that some want here. Hell mend them.

People are complacent if they think it will upset Ryan as well; he's long moved to the view Trump is a zionist stooge which will be the explanation for this in his view.

The reality is every one on the new york 'social calendar' will be in there. Of course if it's more than that, well that would be interesting. Logic - which may be the wrong tool - suggests though that Trump wouldn't have made a platform out of this stuff if that was the case.

You're right, except that they collapsed long ago. Come on, step outside the narrative for once Archie, functional democracy was been traduced a long time ago. A media, ivy league faculty, business and state institutional elite have long run the place and controlled the public square in their own interest with no out ball.

Same everywhere. Alas the predictable result is that out ball has eventually come from bams, as was always going to be the case - I've been saying it as long as the board has existed, though for a long time I misjudged America through my euro centric perspective.

You ain't seen nothing yet. We will come to view these as golden times.

I had a look back up threads this has gone pretty much exactly as we were talking about at new year and we're just a bunch of auld gadges from Edinburgh. Quite why the world's smartest man couldn't see it, is beyond me.

Used for his campaign funds then as a fall guy then bumped as Bannon promised all along.

There are very few Americans so completely the opposite of a) the maga base and b) the thinkers that set Trump's agenda, than Elon Musk. What a sap.

It gets interesting now though, much as smileys indicate some find it hilarious: in the absence of a libertarian party that doesn't exist in a meaningful way, Musk remains far more aligned to the general liberal stump than the maga one. He could be an interesting player now.

With a few hundred million dollars sent their way he could help reshape a democrat party in desperate need of a new direction, or sponsor some kind of libertarian effort.

By the end of Trump's term I rather fancy America will be a lot less fucked than the UK. And that would also have been the case had Kamala won.
