I think that's right. I don't think I'd go so far as @GORDONSMITH7 - i don't think they hate europe. I think his other descriptor 'contempt' is probably accurate though. I think they see us as decadent and unserious, riding.on America's back while full of our own contempt for America. And I think there is a lot of truth in that - which democrat politicians have warned us about for decades (as I say I don't think theyll be in a hurry to restore what Trump bins)I'd not rule out anything with respect to the wishes of what Trump wants to do with Canada and Greenland.... And therefore I don't think Trump cares what Putin does unless it has implications for the U.S. For how long will the U.S. economy be dependent on what Taiwan manufactures? For me i think we are seeing the strong men of the world take whatever they agree on....
My suspicion is their ideal outcome is that the old continent be shocked back into reality and europe starts to pay its own way and get off its suicidal course. But I also expect that it we.dont they're not going to lose sleep. They've decided they cant or won't carry our dead weight one way or the other.
Finally if there is any real suggestion that europe will try to take on Russia, i think we are highly likely to see the entire neoliberal apparatus overthrown and AfDs, RNs and Reforms sweeping to power across the continent.
Trump is but a symptom. Neo liberalism has destroyed the glue between and within the countries of the west. If getting on for 90% of UK youngsters wouldn't fight for the UK, they ain't gonna fight for Ukraine
