TRUMP IS A See you next Tuesday

I've no idea if this should be a thread on its own but FFS this is Scotland. Vice President provoked a lot of anger last week but here's more proof that he was onto something.... This is in Scotland that we have police moving on protesters. Personally I find their protest wrong but that's utterly irrelevant.

I don’t think that is what people were claiming was false. I think they were saying he was wrong that people inside their homes within buffer zones could be done. I don’t think he was wrong on that - I think the letter issued to people living in zones does indeed bear him out - but I don’t think this is the scenario in question.

What it perhaps does do is confirm that praying in buffer zones is in itself an offence, and therefore logically comes within intentional actions that if overseen or overheard from within someone’s home, could - as the letter is written - be an offence. As written, anything that might be an attempt to influence someone is within scope. Which could certainly be applied to overheard / seen prayer.

Still this is outrageous as well. Stopping people from harassing women going into centres is legitimate, but this isn’t that. And PC Andy Halliday looks like he knows it.

Edit - perhaps I’m dwelling to much on the stooshie in our press. If this is in reference to his further point about the guy down south done for praying silently in the street, well yes it is another example. But he was inarguably right on that one, though of course the two tier activist / media set argued anyway.

Trump just pretty much said Ukraine is led by a leader in Zelensky that has 4% popularity. He's unbelievably just bought the Kremlin line that Zelensky isn't the legitimate leader of Ukraine.

Disgraceful. But more because of the negotiating position. I think it’s true that Zelenskyy has become pretty unpopular though I doubt to that extent. Google it K, he is no longer as well thought of at home as he is in the west.

That said, he’s had to deal with rather greater challenges than turn people against western politicians.

What I suspect Trump is doing, and it is despicable, is rationalising Zelenskyy’s exclusion from the top table in negotiations.

Trump is becoming the US president Jeremy Corbyn must have dreamed of (apart from his affection for the Red Sea pedestrians, mind).

I've been uncomfortable for some time that he's really a leader without a mandate in Ukraine. Obviously his country has been invaded etc but does that make an election impossible?

Not watched all his media conference earlier on but reading Trump is asking where all the money is that the US has given?

Wow he absolutely did... Looks like there's a US decapitation strategy happening on Zelensky....

Tbh I would say absolutely yes it does. You cannae be pulling yourself apart internally when someone else’s tanks are literally on your lawn. I have no idea whether Zelenskyy should have been replaced at some point but if so it was for the leadership to do it, not by election.

I have no idea of the rights or wrongs of it all but I do recall that Vitali Kiltschko has been something of a critic and there have been considerable rumblings among the generals.

But I would contend that doesn’t matter now. Russia is the enemy and Trump should not be undermining Zelenskyy.

I suspect - and that’s all it is - that people have Trump all wrong when they think he’s a Putin fan but it I suspect the truth is just as bad.

I think he shares the long-standing conviction of the western left that America should not be the world’s cop, and moreover believes it cannot afford to be (which is probably right).

I think he recognises that one of the fruits of the western cultural revolution is noone cares enough to fight for their neighbour, never mind people across the Atlantic. America may not be as far gone as Europe but it has nevertheless substantially deChristianised and changed in composition - both ideological obligation and kinship has weakened towards Europe and the world. In fact it’s a double whammy as those remaining who do provide the US with its troops (and who are now failing to join up in sufficient number) probably think Europe is even worse than their own regime. And the people who do like Europe…well they don’t fight - as in personally put on a uniform - for anyone.

And rolling all that up, I think he is comfortable with the inevitable implication ; a division of the world between the great powers. He will happily divide up the market so long as it’s on a non compete basis. That’s where he comes from.

Tldr; Euro smart arsery has got the US it wanted and how dya like them apples?

I have been trying to digest this guidance from the guardian, which seeks to equip the least well adapted people on earth to survive if Trump dEstROys tEH wORld.

I can’t shrug this off of any more, given I am approaching my dotage and thus may end up the equivalent of a 21 year old guardianista in terms of the vigour required to survive nature red in tooth and claw.

However I am tbf struggling to understand its directives. Any ideas?

“Paradoxically, with his trade wars and assault on global standards, Trump could help to desynchronise the system and reintroduce some modularity. But, as he simultaneously rips down circuit breakers, undermines preparedness and treats Earth systems as an enemy to be crushed, the net effect is likely to make human systems more prone to collapse.”

Classic Moonbat word salad.

More Trump BS - approval rating for Zelenskyy is 58% in Ukraine.

Zelenskyy has a higher approval rating than Starmer! And that's a country at war!! Figure I saw was 23% positive which seems like a mistake and should be much lower.

Or Europe stands up. One reason Trump and Musk are furiously supporting right wing and pro-Russian parties here is to block that off.
What would Europe standing up look like? Opinion polls and even opinion on here suggest Britons have little appetite for fighting on behalf of other countries, and perhaps even our own.

Meanwhile our military capability has been so eroded we’d struggle at Ibrox away never mind against Russia - Starmer rightly saying we’d need a US backstop.

The latter is of course America’s point in the whole NATO chat.

Its not so long ago on here people were complaining trident renewal, while any number of threads have indicated lack of willingness to fight, and some have even seemed keen on an independent Scotland not needing to be saddled with England’s militaristic fantasies.

I don’t think this forum is a unique gathering of peaceniks. The UK and Europe will be hard pressed to stand up to anyone right now. That needs to change.

Imagine trying to get today's youngsters into the military.

But I do think that the football hooligan, schemie, neds and chavs will be useful again....

For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' Chuck him out, the brute!"
But it's "Saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot;
An' it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' anything you please;
An' Tommy ain't a bloomin' fool - you bet that Tommy sees!

Been watching this filmed in Russia. From what I see it's the Russian lads from the schemes joining up to fight while the student types are the refusnics. Worth a wee watch.....

No many volunteers. Conscripts. Like my dad was in WW2. Like millions of others in every nation involved.

On that wee documentary it's said that more Russians have died in this war than died in Afghanistan . And the Russians were in Afghanistan a long time.

I think most normal folk will agree that Putin started this. He will not give the territory taken back to Ukraine.

But that fuckin div Starmer stating that Ukraines entry in to NATO is unstoppable.

Well hello. Was that not something that was agreed on years ago that Ukraine would NOT be in NATO.

And like politicians the world over they have no qualms about sending other folks bairns to fight them.

Absolutely, we better get used to it.
After +/-100,000 years and already a few civilisations, you might think we could abandon male territory wars for longer than an interregnum... But men keep doing it cos they won't back down for pride's sake. That is the central problem men (not unsurprisingly) run away from. Men, not mankind.

Spot on there Haarlem.

And it's no usually the schemie type makes who start wars.

As far as I can tell it usually seems to emanate from those who are supposedly intelligent.
I dunno Jimmy. Put schemies in charge and I’m not sure it would be much different. Same with women, despite the feminist claim.

“I want what they’ve got” is what war is almost always about, despite the recent ahistorical enthusiasm for imagining they are caused by religion. And as long as there are human beings, that ain’t going away.

Diversity studies slogans aren’t going to help us now, other than weaken our potential to stand up to the Putin’s of the world. Men are obviously more aggressive, but if women were in all positions of power fuck all would change.

In any case it’s moot. We are in the world we are in, and the golden bubble we grew up in has popped. Time to get real.

Britain likes to think it is still a big noise. It's not.

I'd rather our politics put all their efforts into giving all our folk decent jobs and the ability to live decent lives.

Unless we were under direct threat I doubt I'd support our military getting involved in conflicts.

Well yeah but the problem is that if everyone took that attitude Europe would get eaten one bite at a time. And by the time it was our turn, there’d be no one left to help us.
