Wasn’t the whole concept of a number zero an Islamic invention? Roman numberals have no zero. I think.
 
I've just checked to confirm a vague recollection of my history, because of all the faffing about with the calendars in the Middle Ages JC was born around what is now considered to be on or around 6 BC.

To be fair everybody and their dug had their own calendar in these days, some still do!

So just pick a day, date, time to suit. After the next war we might all be on different calendars again! Or perhaps there will be no-one around to care :-(
 
If he was born,the date is I believe six years out,because Herod-who did exist; died six years earlier.
But the Gregorian Calender which we go by, came out in what was 1582 under the Julian, by Pope Gregory3,so if there is any question blame him.The Farmers Almanac agree with me, as do the Canadian Maritime Society among others.

I believe the 6th of January is the accepted date.

Confused, I am now.
I used to think women lied about their age but God bless them I think they just couldn't do the arithmetic.
We just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary on hogmanay,or it could be our 24th or 26th???
Now I don't know the date I'm supposed to retire at. Christ I struggle with changing the time on the clock...spring forward, scratch ma back or whatever it is and this is me sober!

Just because we didn't start counting til 1, doesn't change the fact that at 10, we start a fresh decade.
The first wasn't a full one, the rest since, have been.
