Thanks. Excellent atuff with the goalposts too. A couple of your players put the tops on and keot them in. but mostly they got told no. It was probably more to do with keeping their shirt sponsor on display.

I will be watching the second leg, I hope you are celebrating and stay drunk for many days after.

He's a Scot. Vaguely a Sheepshagger, as he's from Aberdeen. Was in the Royal Navy, based at Portsmouth for a while and occasionally used to watch Pompey, decades ago... Which would make it worse.
Southampton's spy has done him - or whoever - for 620 notes... Assuming they'd have beaten Hull, which would've been a 4-7 shot in the "To Qualify" market.

I watched Notts County v Salford today on a live stream, 3-0 to Notts. Have to say the Magpies were superb today and really did a job on Salford. The Notts defence was strong, unhurried and organised, never looking in much trouble barely. The creative players showed no little skill on the ball, passed well and ran and ran in searing heat of 37C. The team's finishing was clean-cut and decisive. The whole display was extremely professional and thorough.

The coverage of course kept referring to Salford club owners Beckham and Gary Neville. In fact I'm sure Notts' sibling Danish owners, the excellent Christoffer and Alexander Reedtz weren't even mentioned until minutes to go with Notts walking away with it. Well done to them for their calm understated stewardship in taking on the club when it was newly relegated to non-league, had only six players on the books, a transfer embargo on it and a winding-order due in two days after the club not paying any wages for two months. They have worked absolute wonders, stuck to their plan and deserve credit for a job well done.

Dublin Derby tonight.
Shamrock Rovers won 2-1 v. Bohs in Dalymount Park, with a 90th minute winner.
The usual guy on the channel is a St.Pat's fan, but attends games as a neutral whenever there's one on in Dublin.
Not much of a parent if he's a staunch Pat's fan and his kid follows Bohs😂.
I've not been to Dalymount since before Covid. Maybe 2017🤔. But I'd like a final walk around it before the bulldozers move in at the end of the year. Sadly, Bohs are away the week we're over there.

The club tend to go for quite left-field managerial selections. They're normally individuals who few have heard of. Stuart Maynard was a nice guy from a mid-table non-league Wealdstone who were labouring in the Conference. Notts were his first full-time professional coaching spot and he did reasonably well. Taking absolutely nothing away from him, the club he's at now, York City, have new-ish and relatively large funding. I'm pleased for him, it's a far cry from working for BT, good for him.

Notts run under a data-led system, the Head Coach of the club (not Manager) doesn't select new players to bring in. It's a system that has collected plenty of criticism for Notts, not least from the fan base, but has brought them steady incremental progress and two promotions, with a few near-misses, in the seven years of the Reedtz's ownership, Football is a fickle game but those two are steadfast and true to their principles. They are gentlemen, well mannered and are unfailingly modest. They do not seek fame and the spotlight. Such a rare breath of fresh air in today's times. I hope they are enjoying a couple of Aquavits today.

Seems to be an annual thing now.

They did Hibs and gunts v Barcelona a few years ago followed on with less interesting matches since. When these games stop making a profit they'll move on I suspect.
 
Went tae Liverpool Napoli game there a few years back with 2 of my grandsons, both Liverpool fans, and although it was a sell out the atmosphere was shite.

Apparently its 35 quid so i might go. My mate has a soft spot for everton. During the festival so make edinburgh even more unbearable unfortunately. Id go on hols during the festival if it wasnt do ridiculously expensive.

All those extra matches really stretch a squad and it's the league results that always seem to suffer. Do you reckon Hibs will recruit quality players in the numbers needed for squad rotation. :102:

No. Not a chance.
Don't know how much the CP squad cost to assemble other than the guy Wharton at 20 million plus from a champuonship club( cant remember which one!)
Doubt our whole squad doesnt come near that figure alone.
