Sick & Tired of the Gunt Saga

Clubs have two different mentalitys and have done for along as i can remember. Club happy finishing top 6 this season just sums us up, thr loss of Mulligan and Bowie has been massive for us, we have been a very hard watch all season, we are likely going to have to invest quite a bit to improve next season.

Let’s be honest when was the last time you left a hibs game this season and said that was a great game, the football is boring slow and turgid and the amount of times we play 3 centre half’s when not required is why teams have sussed us out because he never changes his game plan

McIness is often accused by many of being a percentage football manager, dour, master of the dark arts of the game, loves a 1-0 win.... all the usual stuff.
Many Hibs fans didn't want him when we were looking for a new boss.
Yet he is very close to achieving nothing short of a football miracle.

Opinions ?

You're being ignored there ,Bill.
Spoiling the rants ain't on buddy!

I wasn't deliberately ignoring it, just pointing out where Hibs standing has been for the last 30/40 years. Do you think a club our size should be a primarily bottom 6 club, relegated multiple times and spent 3 years in the championship?

A league which featured Hearts and Sevco then Dundee Utd. Definitely not your average Championship season. And not forgetting Hibs made it to the latter stages of cups each season, Hampden was our practically our second home as we pumped Premiership teams en route.

Remember the Gunts got relegated twice within 6 years. They'll blame Covid of course but the average point calculation still had them projected bottom. 76 - 81 was also a particular bad period.

Aberdeen and Motherwell should have also gone down having finished bottom but wriggle out of it.

It's not so much the relegation I'm hanging my hat on, more our average league position along with the relations we've suffered over the past three or four decades. For a club our size with our support we have badly underachieved.

Im not for changing manager mid season fwiw, unless there’s something fundamental that requires a manager change.

I think planned manager changes at season end are best for both parties.
I agree with you here, a new manager needs a pre season and a say in which type of players he wants. He would also have a say in who has to go.

If clubs do not perform they end up where they belong mostly.
Size really doesn't matter.
If size was the indicator/ criteria, then Hibs would be pretty close to where they are at this moment in time.

But why don’t Hibs perform?. Especially against Hearts.

Hibs perform much as they have done for 150 years.
Except on a few odd occasions where they've overperformed, and occasions where they've underperformed.
Hearts have won the title 4 times.
Hibs have won the title 4 times.
And these hand wringing posts at this time is because they have a chance to make it 5.
No handwringing for most of the last 60 years when ( with 4 exceptions) the title has gone to either of the arse cheeks?
Did i mention that has happened 111 times in 136 years?
Taking those facts in consideration, maybe we are not the only club 'under performing'?
