I really would love to see him win a trophy with Everton. I can see him getting back to what he was. Aware he is not popular but what's talent. I remember him at Easter Road when he was maybe 16, was immense and mental. Sure GOC outscored him that night

Sticks in the throat a bit when Hibs players move to bigger clubs, we know they will earn far more. Must grate with Everton more as they would see theirself as a big club anyway. No doubt United offered far more money. Suppose every supporter wonders how much money it would take them to stay at the team they support

Prob a pound more than the opposition is paying

ah it wasn't money..it was development :coffee:

Wayne Rooney: The REAL REASON I left Everton for Manchester United | Daily Star

:rascal: yeh right

Saw this on Twitter..

" Gaz @CantonaManc
13 years ago we took their best player, now we've slung him back and took their current best player. Everton are our bitch.

We sent you David Moyes and destroyed a 25 year dynasty in 6 months. Your move, chuckles. "

Rooney has been a great player in the English Premiership, but I have never believed he was quite the world class megastar player the media down south made him out to be. His career goals at a high level speak for themself, however he has been something of a flop when it really mattered for England when up against the truly top footballing nations of the world. His best years are behind him now, but I think this is a good move both for him and Everton.

I can only say that for Scotland's sake I'm relieved he was an England flop or we may have had to endure another 40 years of crowing from them

Wayne Rooney left Everton to become a better player - 13 years later he's won every trophy with Man Utd, become their all time leader goalscorer as well as England's leading scorer, and now returns to his boyhood club - that didn't work out too badly for him.

Branding players world class is done all too readily, and English players are overhyped to the max, but Rooney was undoubtedly the best player in England for a spell and he was a key part of a dominant United side.

Some tart on Talksport this morning from a bookmaker saying they have taken more money on Everton to win the league than Liverpool. Don't normally pay attention to Treacle's talking about football but this one was giving facts rather than opinion.

Everton certainly splashing the cash although probably about even now with Lukaku income.
Interesting season ahead for them though.

Liverpool seem preoccupied with trying to flash their EPL TV money at Mr Red Bull who is worth $15bn. With his German RB franchise in the champions league he'll be looking for maximum brand exposure so selling Keita won't be on the agenda. I'd normally say at this point "unless it's for silly money" but even then it's doubtful. They've already had one player this summer trying to force a move and been told to STFU.
