Return of Brexit via Labour?

Absolutely. (Lots of them have family here already btw, huge driver)

But yeah your point is spot on. They want to get to the best place they can.

What would you do if you were in that position?

It's human nature to try your best, to get the best. When it's actual livelihood, surely thats the absolute greatest thing you would want to get the best you can?
I get that, makes total sense. But… if they are escaping war torn misery why do they continue to travel so dangerously once they are technically safe. We have the lowest benefits and one of the crudest systems for asylum seekers.

Germany offers far more financially. Spain offers much easier settlement.

I guess everybody has a different idea of what is "safe". For me it would be somewhere I can understand the language, have relatives there already, or at least other people from my community or country. Or maybe they've had asylum claims rejected in other countries they've passed through. People arriving on small boats have usually been travelling for many months or even years before they arrive here.

Does a better improvement to the UK economy, whatever way we get closer to the EU, not make it better all round for everyone? Win/win!

Well Jack the question still has to be answered why Germany and France are both in fiscal trouble?

And do net contributers in the EU not send massie amounts of cash to poorer nations who can be bullied by France and Germany into doing as they are told?

How about the £ billions that the eu would want be spent here instead?

German car workers are doing REALLY well just now.......

Job Cuts and Restructuring:

The sector faces over 170,000 confirmed and proposed job reductions across brands like Volkswagen, BMW, Porsche, Audi, Mercedes, and key suppliers (Bosch, ZF, Continental). Volkswagen has proposed up to 100,000 job cuts by 2030 and potential domestic plant closures, threatening a previous pact against forced redundancies.

I see on the X post you used that Goldman Sachs say it COULD go up.

Remember the last financial crash that none of the economist experts predicted.

What would make them correct now?

Deary me. The much 'loved' EU and it's 'workers rights'........

Electrocutions, disease and no pay: how workers risk exploitation in Europe’s datacentres.

As thousands of datacentres are constructed across Europe, the Guardian and Investigate Europe have uncovered disturbing evidence that some workers building them are exposed to dangerous conditions and living in fear of speaking out.

But unions say the push for tech sovereignty in Europe is becoming increasingly reliant on the exploitation of migrant workers.

In dozens of interviews we found evidence of debilitating injuries, squalid living conditions, an unreported infectious outbreak, unpaid wages and exploitative employment practices.

Would they not have been subject to the individual countries health and safety regulations?

Be as well saying the same about any group of random countries i.e. random shit happens in random group of Pacific islands.

Is the accusation unique to the EU? NO!

Clutching at straws for anything other than your very specific gripe you keep on referring to. Go on, remind us.

The EU dont give any more of a shit about workers rights than anybody else but folk still want tae rejoin

The UK got more worker rights in the time we were members and since then they've been eroded. Go figure.
Looks like theyre being eroded in the EU. which workers rights were better in the EU? Is that the one that gave eastern europeans the right to come here and undercut british workers.?

Are you waiting for St Farage to rescue the rights of workers in the UK? 😆

Workers rights are being eroded around the world. The UK was leading the race to the bottom after Brexit.

No it wasnt. And maybe the workers should get unionised again.

P&O Ferries was unionised but they can only protect jobs when legislation allows it. Brexit took away workers tights.

2 minutes after Brexit P&O Ferries sacked all their crews saying they could reapply for their jobs at Filipino rates. Remember that?

Torys said they'd introduce legislation to protect workers rights within a year. After a year fuck all. Fuck all with party hats on as P&O Ferries were awarded government contracts worth over £200m iirc despite the lying tory government saying they'd cancel contracts.

Just like Viking ferries did while the company was in the EU. Profit before workers rights.

It was perhaps after that event the EU tightened it's employment laws to stop it happening again for countries inside the EU. The P&O Ferries crews were not sacked while we were members.

The UK left the EU and almost immediately the P&O Ferries crews were sacked.

Yep Jack I remember.

But Viking sacked their workers as soon as Estonia joined the EU.

And Laval tried to pay Latvian workers in Sweden Latvian rates of pay and Latvian health and safety rules.

The Swedish lads said no. The EU ruled against the workers in BOTH cases.

This is a case you repeatedly bring up. Are you saying that workers rights in Britain have improved sine Brexit?

I voted leave because I believe it would make conditions for revolutionary change all the better, and since British society has become more polarised between right and left and away from the centre I feal more hopefull about things than I did.

Revolutionary change to what end though?
