Return of Brexit via Labour?

I love how it's framed as a capitalist club, implying that the alternative to being in the EU is socialism. But it's more complex than that.
Is it? Is it no all about money and business then Archie?

Is it no all about profit? Cheap labour?

Well if it had little impact then why mention it? Unless if course he's trying to appeal to the rejoin lot.
Because it's important. Russia has been waging a brutal war adjacent to eastern Europe. He was also discussing it in the context of other European countries.

The brutal war I agree with yes he should be vocal.

The rest nope. It's none of his business how folk in other nations vote.

Well we live in capitalist economies. I believe the EU mitigated some of these excesses. The point I was making was that it's presented as an either or. But right enough, Johnson and Farage were in favour of leaving to promote a socialist UK.

But it's his business to secure the integrity of our democratic process. And so understanding what's going on is crucial.

I never believed for a min that they were socialist mate.

But WE could vote to get rid of them.

No Burnham as such so why did Labour MP's go and canvas for Kamala Harris in the last American election?

Or is meddling in elections ok sometimes?

Yep I have. And as I pointed out earlier he also stated that Scotland could probably get another indie referendum if he was pm.

I still think the politicos are writing off the Reform vote and how it will do in an election.

Labour party members are not the folk Burnham needs to attract.

It's former labour voters. And he has just stated that he may overturn Brexit.

Many many Labour strongholds voted leave.
Yeah, and you've also pointed out that politicians lie, and I would suggest that the frogfaced grifter is doing just that in order to try to garner more votes in Scotland. He's got previous for denying things he's said so I wouldn't believe him.

I never said he would honour the promise I just stated that he said Reform would give another indie referendum.

There's a clear difference between activists working for a campaign and interference. Tory activists worked for the Trump campaign. Farage very publically supported Trump at rallies etc. It happens for lots of reasons. An obvious one is to learn approaches and strategies for campaigning. I think you're clutching at straws here.

Na Archie I'm just pointing out that some meddling is better than other meddling.

Did the yanks no have a bit to say about the indie referendum we had in Scotland?

I think theres a difference between our MPs getting actively involved in campaigning for certain political parties abroad and private citizens doing it, of which i believe farage was one at the time

No - you're presenting a false equivalence to try and get the Russians off the hook.
Why would I want the Russians of the hook? And what hook?

That they meddle in elections? Every fucker from other countries have something to say about another nations elections.

Just look at the Europe wide reactions to German folk voting for the AfD.

It's up to the Germans who they vote for.

Unless the rest of Europe goes all Fascist on the Germans and tell them who they can and can't vote for.

I know you don't know exactly why but in your view why did he say no deal?
There will be people here much closer to SNP thinking than me. But I suspect it goes against the line that the SNP is opposed to Reform. If you say you'll do a deal with Reform then it leaves the party very vulnerable to political attacks. I think it would also lose the SNP support. And the moral high ground.

Or maybe Swinney doesn't really want to have another indie vote.

Stranger things etc etc

It's not the first time outsiders have meddled in elections. Won't be the last. Remainers should have got out of their cots.

They never.

Did the Russians make them stay in their beds then? Interesting concept.

The pesky Russians made the vociferous ones extra sleepy.

Well I did put up some of the benefits we got.

And I've said many times it benefited me personally.

We can argue till the coos come hame about benefit and loss but the two factors I mentioned earlier HAVE played a part.

Anyway IF sleekit baws calls an election it will be very interesting to see what 'pledges' he comes out with.

The £350 million a week to the EU WAS true but we got a £100 million back as a rebate.

The bus thing was stupid though.

Why no miss out the middle man and just spend the cash here?
Still evading my initial question.
But i'm too fucking old and not doing so well right now to give a shit about Burnham ,Farage etc
People will be saying the same things about politicians in 100 years, so why get yer knickers in a twist about something you can do bugger all about.

And with that I'm in full agreement mate.

I like a bit roust about on here as it passes time and although it gets heated it's nowt to get too worked up over.

Your health is far more important than ANY politician.

Hopefully one day all the protagonists on here could meet up and have a beer and somebof Sanchos whisky.

When I win the lottery I'll buy a really good selection of whisky and we can get blootered and sing Hibs songs.

One of a consistent stream of lies.

Both the frog faced git Farage and Overlord Offord have clearly stated, after they underhandedly bagged extra votes for the Westminster and Holyrood elections, there will be no referendum on Scottish independence.

It's been mentioned just recently why are you repeating misleading information?

Well if it's misleading information then I retract said comment I made.

Me. Me.Me.
I no longer drink.
When i did i didn't drink whisky.
But its a good idea Jimmy.
I'll watch everyone getting heady and speaking absolute shite.
