Looks good mate. I have been following it on Facebook for months. Did you know Steve Coogan was involved in promoting and possibly funding it?

KTF

I didn't know that, but i do know two of the dancers that took part as extras.

Looking forward to this. Also been following its progress on Facebook.

The last Northern film Soulboy was a quite a decent watch I thought, despite a hokey ending.

Keep the Faith, brothers and sisters.

Is this the new one with Martin Compston?
I watched Soulboy in the telly a couple of months ago.

I like him as an actor - going to see The Wee Man on Sunday.
I answered the phone to Paul Ferris once - not much of a claim to fame.

No.

Soul Boy must be at least two years old now.

Northen Soul is a new film that will be released later in the year.

Was that the one set in Stoke?

That's right Uncy. Set in Stoke-on-Trent in 1974.

Stoke is still up there as one of the big cities of the Northern Soul scene... I knew a few folk from Edinburgh and Fife that went down a few weeks ago to an allnighter.

Peter Werth's London's fashion show - Northern Soul and it seems Oxford bags are back in this spring.

The BBC used to do a nice Friday evening Northern show from there a few years ago with Mary (? can't rmemeber her name). Made for a nostalgic night's listening. One or two places in the middle of the country with a good Northern Soul heritage - including the city I live in! :ura:

Remember Pete Waterman talking about when he walked into the Nottingham Palais and the below was playing with the crowd doing the 'You're ready now' clap-clap-clap thing to the song all over the dance floor - fantastic! Mainstream but still a goodie.

Then I agree about the ending.....

It was plain silly. A farcical and unbelievable ending to a fun little film. Why?

You can probably get Radio Sheffield where you are Stu? The below is syndicated round the region.

I've just came across this short film from the makers of the best Harrington jacket on the market.

Steve Cato, the first guy dancing to Northern soul is a Facebook mate of mine from Manchester and i've had the pleasure of his company on more than one occasion.

Thought soul boy was pretty lame to be honest and the cheesy end just finished it for me. So hopefully this will be a much better film.

I was at the BMC soul night a couple of weeks back, excellent Northern sets flung in by Zander.Good to hear the crackle of vinyl these days, and to top it of the British NS champion came along to show us how it should be done. Lead to believe the young guy who incidentally was the spit of Soul Boy won the title at the Blackpool weekender last Nov.

I brought the recent bells at a soul night where Zander was DJing, it went down hill after he left not long after the bells. (He's a teetotaler).

The young lad who won the 'world' soul competition down in Blackpool is from Penicuik, his auld man Stevie is heavilly into the scooter scene.

Yeah, his old man was there and looked kinda familiar from the old days. Remember Z from years ago, on a scoot run to Ayr it all went pear shaped in a Carnwath cafe and around 40 of us pulled up on the road to Lanark by the old bill. Z went screaming through road block with his bemused female passenger:rollfloor. Think he got a few miles down the road before joining us in Lanark station for the afternoon.
