Match Preview Hibs v Gunts

Lets push on to their weakness.
Their defence is as shaky as ours.
The only difference is they get a bit more protection from their midfield, but McCart is on a par with Kerr.
Its pretty much a free hit for Hibs.
Go for it.

Agreed. It’s all very well getting crosses in from wide areas but we need a bully boy to get on the end of them. I don’t think we’re a basket case yet but Reedijk needs some of our injured players back to give him some options. Too many off-form players at the same time. For me, Newell showed them the way last night and should be the first name on the team sheet for Sunday.
Yea, I keep thinking we need a Mixu type body to crash through the box and get on the end of those crosses.

Newell can be very handsy too. The usual early yellow from the ref and we're walking a fine line. I'm very concerned about discipline.
Hibs first to get a yellow card is an absolute stick-on. Hearts will no doubt have a few players get a talking to before someone like Mulligan goes straight in the book for his first tackle.

Every derby Kev.
They are far more likely to be awarded a penalty, and we are far more likely to have a player sent off. Hopefully the ref is an incompetent oaf for both teams. For a change. I wont hold my breath.

Nadden hung up some lovely balls to the corner of the 6 yard box the other night. We had nobody there to take advantage. Reedyk has been getting more bodies in the box but we need them in there quicker/earlier

We have played the gunts at Hampden four times and had players sent off in three of them. Keeping our discipline is vital. Passlack is a worry if he starts getting turned inside out by McPake
Put the gunt into row z at the start of the game then see if he still fancies it.

Just don't let these Gorgie bastards win. Sadly, I don't think that will be enough. 2/3 1 Herts

I remember the last time I was this pessimistic before a Hampden cup tie. It was right after we just lost the play off to Falkirk in 2016...seriously thought twice about going as I thought we'd get beat and how many kicks in the stones can you take? We all know what happened next 🏆

p.s. I'm not that pessimistic :grinning-smiley-045:

That’s the spirit.
Miscreants? No point in arresting them. They’ve got a way out.
Get the doughnuts in.

C’mon, you’re a good dog.
If we get through, we shouldn’t fear the Huns, their biggest weakness will be complacency, they will think they just need to turn up………………..as they did in 2016.

Nothing would indicate a Hibs win is likely. I am not confident but I never am when we play them. That all said, we are more than capable of beating a decent Hearts team who can score, but have lost 9 goals against the old firm recently. A lot of tomorrow’s outcome will be influenced by attitude, less so by quality.
2-1 Hibs in normal time

Seen this playbook all too often. We can go on about ability and skill all day long but the one thing they have always had over us is belief and determination.
You're right, since 1983 they've won far more games than they actually deserved due to whatever the fuck they sprinkle on their Weetabix. Previous 20 years they hardly won a game. It's no Man City we're playing against, they might be funded by dubious means but they're beatable

Win is only thing that matters

There’s no ‘proud of the players’ nonsense if we play okay and narrowly lose. Win is the only acceptable outcome.
