Rest in Pies.

1970's not 1870's

It wasn't open in the 1870s Doc, where did you go in them there days? I agree re the 1970's though. Staggered in there many a time after some disco or other [That's what we called clubs kids] for a couple of pies.

was a late night regular there at one point when I was seeing a lass from that area.

family of Hibbies I think, Eddie Malone now at Spartans after a stint in the US.

used to be a tidy late night bakery at South Clerk St as well, Andersons?

Thats my family (Eddie et al), indeed a family of hibbies. The bakers is not the same (near) family as far as I know, the 'slaughterhouse' at Corn Exchange is though and I think Eddie has worked there along with almost every other Malone in Edinburgh

Lightweight.

14 "rowies", Bruce the Bakers, Peterheid.

I don't remember this place but there were bakeries in haymarket and canonmils ( Dub - if you're long time from Stockbridge you just remember this, opposite the garage?) that I used to frequent. Happy days.

Aye, its now part of Canon flats. Edina was littered with these oases. Happy days indeed.

Malones is a sad loss to many West Lothian based Edinburgers, I would have my taxi scoot past on the way home, and buy the driver a meat pastry of choice tae.
