Can they beat Real Madrid?

They obviously could but they are a funny old team. They might need to win the final to even qualify for next years champions league.

As a Cule and Evertonian, I want the two of them to get beat. Its fair to say I wont be watching the (not actually) the Champions League final this year.

Whoopsie :rollfloor

I did think about this being your dream final.

Liverpool are the top scorers in the CL and it has gone a long way to getting them to the final. The purest, simplest currency in the game. Madrid have been very lucky at times and are in the final despite probably should have lost against Juve and definitely against Bayern.

What will be will be.

I have no favourite, I hate them both equally and wont be watching, fitba is great, sometimes it is total pish.

I don't think I'll have the reciprocal dilemma anytime soon of an Orcs v Man Ure

Hope Liverpool do the Royals and in particularly Ronaldo who is a self obsessed w@nk - which is probably part of the reason behind his success.

Liverpool are a joy to watch at times which is refreshing when there is so much turgid (and completely overrated) football on display these days. Their front three are capable of scoring plenty against any defence and RM are no great shakes as their league season has shown.

I do like Kloppy despite his history at fukdog clubs Mainz and Dortmund.

I'll be a sofa scouser/remote control red for the day but might well be distracted thinking about Eintracht Frankfurt's glorious cup victory over Scheiss Bayern the weekend before.

First of all well done to Liverpool for getting to the "Champions" League Final and they have a decent chance of winning. I'm sorry though, I stopped paying any real attention to this rigged greed-fest of a competition many years ago. I can't take it seriously at all. Liverpool finished fourth in the premiership last season and were nowhere near winning the league. I might be wrong but I don't think Real Madrid won the Spanish league last season either. Any tournament which calls itself a Champions League but is one in which all of the top four finishing clubs in England get automatic entry into the group stages is a joke. Meanwhile the champions of Scotland have to play two or three two legged qualifying rounds just to get into the group stages. I lost interest in this lottery of a competition a long, long time ago.

The champions league knockout stages have been a joy to watch this season. Goals galore, amazing comebacks, big upsets, Real Madrid have been incredibly fortunate to get to the final, Juve should have emptied them and Bayern had plenty chances to do so. The final should be a cracker, can’t see it ending 0-0!

Won't be betting on the result, but I may have a few bob on Ramos to have an early bath.

Won't be a great price though.......

While I agree with the bulk of this, Real Madrid are defending champions. So if I was the tournament runner, I'd have had them in there anyways?

Regardless of all the allegiances and CL grievances on this thread, two things seem clear to me:

a) Only the most churlish football fan would deny that Liverpool have been superbly entertaining and well worthy of their spot in the final. They play the game the way we'd all want it played.

b) The final has all the ingredients to be a belter - the semis have been superb. I'll be watching (and I don't usually).

Football it has been said ‘is a funny old game’. Not long ago Klopp was a villain. Now he’s a genius (again). Good luck to them - probably the least worst of the big EPL teams and many reds have a soft spot for Hibs so here’s hoping they can win.

Liverpool to get 16626 tickets, Madrid probably the same.
So 33000 tickets for fans in a 70000 seater...

All those corporate sponsors, officials, politicians, various football association board members out on their free beano, all of their wives, their families, friends of theirs from the tennis clubs, from their secret societies and every person and corporation they`ve taken a bribe from...Got all of them to seat.

Surprised there`s any tickets left at all for genuine football supporters, to be honest :hmmm

The Champions League knockout stages have actually been entertaining this season for the first time in a long time. Haven’t usually bothered watching any of it in the last few years but have watched a few games this season.

I would still watch Scottish football over any of it though.

I am not churlish, I support Everton, I have done since primary school. This is like watching and supporting the gunts or huns for me. Sadly supporting Real is equally as bad.

True, but seen's as how we are talking about a match between 2 teams entirely reliant on the filthy lucre of dodgy dealing, player churning, and sponsorship from all these corporations then it seems quite appropriate for 1/3 of the tickets to go to non genuine football supporters. And let's not forget that this is supposedly the 'Champions' League Final and yet neither of these teams are champions of their respective leagues.

The putas from Madrid won La Liga last season, the red shite were a lucky fourth.

Did they, ach, I thought Barca had won it. Show's how much attention I pay. Anyway the main point is that football at that level is a financial scam and long lost its real appeal for the genuine fan.

Folk might say 'What if Hibs got to the final wouldn't you want 100% of the tickets to go to real fans'..my reply would be 'If Hibs got to the Final of the Champions League then I'd probably have stopped following them three or four years previously when it became obvious they were being run by crooks and spivs' To me the joy of our Scottish Cup win was enhanced by the fact we did it without a load of expensive signings unlike the Guntz fairly recent Scottish Cup Wins where they had squads full of players they couldn't afford.
