Little things that annoy you.

You may not be working but you're still earning.
It's only classed as 'earned income' for tax purposes.
It's a pension, not wages. We're not 'employed' as pensioners you know.

Would you also expect me to be paying NI on the interest from my enormous savings? Just tax again..... although obviously at the higher rate.

I know you are disappointed, but you have to just accept that pensioners don't pay National Insurance when they aint working.

Did the lollipop man abuse you when you were at school? You seem terribly bitter towards the elderly.

If the well off pensioner's did pay NI on their pension and saving's, maybe there wouldnn't be a black hole in the Pension pot.
Us worker's could retire at 65 instead of 67. That's two more year's of contribution's and two less year's of a pension.

Are you a lollipop man now? If you are, i hope you're declaring your earnings to HMRC.

That would require dropping the veil in terms of what NI is and isn't and the ponzi scheme nature of the whole thing, which could be politically fraught.

Ah I see now - you want people who didn’t qualify for state pension until they turned 66 to divvy up so that you can retire at 65? Gotcha! A cunning plan.

Tbf my dad was fuming when he turned 65 this year as he feels he should have been retiring now and not 2 years from now!

Conners assumptions of loads of extremely well off OAPs that spend 3 months in Spain and they're the problem is so far off the mark, it ventures into Ryan territory.

But it IS right to say that there's a cash black hole, many of them probably, and money has to be recovered somewhere.

I don't think that's gonna be achieved by taking away free bus passes though.

I think you youngsters should pay more in tax, and pensioners should get their pensions tax free. We should also get reduced prices in pubs, particularly if we have our own personalised glasses in the pub.

That would give you something to look forward to.

You already do get pensioner price's in pubs. well the one's i drink in. And the barstaff phone you a taxi. Playing a game of pool against you auld codger's, is like a game of chess. Just pot balls please.

And free travel insurance surely?

There’s your problem - you’re spending too much time in the pub getting fleeced at pool by pensioners.

Never seen one yet and been drawing my government pension for 13 years. Are there any that do bed and breakfast? OAP rates of course.

They auld boy's, great company though, don't play for drink or money. They like getting one up on a younger person.
Learnt a few tricks from them too.

Plenty in Leith pal. Can't help you with the bed and breakfast stuff. Wetherspoons do a good breakfast, no bed though.

GREAT point. What's worse, getting a free bus pass and not using it, or using it to go to the battle cruiser with her oap mates and inject a little cashola into the local economy. Whilst sleeping some youngsters at pool?!
I’d use my bus pass more often if I didn’t live 4 miles from a bus stop. 3 times in 8 years I’ve used it and I’m still fuming at having to pay a booking fee.

Why do pensioner's get the Personal allowance, which is £12,590. Fuck sake, that's for the employed, not the, Cost us fuck all brigade.

Same reason you get it. You’re either a wind-up merchant or a fucking dick.
No. Everybody is entitled to a personal Allowance, except children. When you retire, you're no longer contributing, at the same rate as an employed worker.
The Personal Allowance for retirees, should take that into considration. It doesn't, Too many lost votes i think.

Personal allowance?
That gets swallowed up in my first pension.
End up paying 42% on the others.
Take it from me @connerg the bus pass is scant consolation for paying tens of thousands in OAP tax.

Luckily I subsidise the tax paid by ripping off youngsters on the pool table. And getting them to pay for the drink. I even con them into believing my drinks are cheap because of my age.
It’s not just the balls I’m pocketing.

And bus driver's who come to a halt, well after the bus top. It's happening a lot now. No idea why.

Are you a retired Scotrail worker? Thick as fuck and believe everything your union tells you. Including how to vote.
