Lewis Miller

He’s got plenty of great attributes, physique, strength, good at getting up and down the line, he’s decent on the ball, makes great runs beyond defenders.

Hes got plenty to learn though, reading the game isn’t his strongest asset, he gets caught out of position, doesn’t always man mark as well as he should and he’s been guilty of falling asleep or reacting late. Things he could definitely learn.

I hope he doesn’t go.

Big Miller fan here too. Very skillful with the ball at his feet as well as tenacious. A key part of the first choice 11. Hibs arent a selling club right now and Miller is under contract till next year so in a good position to give the middle finger to bids of £1-1.5m if SDG wants a proper crack at everything this season. If we get offers over £2m then that buys a decent replacement. So no sweat either way.

Worse things for a footballer to do than get paid a lot of money to live in London
True, fine if he plays regularly for world cup chance 👍probably the reason he’s been involved was down to playing at Hibs every week 🤔

Would you say Miller has improved over the last year or so?

When I see him play for Oz he looks good going forward but still loses his man/positioning in defence and makes rash decisions which have certainly cost us.
Miller looked far better with C Cadden in front of him.
A back 3 suits him better ,and keeps him in check most of the time.
He does still do the 'head down and off I go' occasionally, but less than he did as an out & out full back.
I'll be disappointed if he goes, but in 5 months he can please himself and getting cash in now would lessen that disappointment.

I wouldn't say he is a better player than Porto when he left us. Miller right now is not good enough for the Championship. For the sake of his career, he should sign a new deal and play another season under SDG and then move.

I wouldn't be selling yet, he's now a fully established, prominent starter for his World Cup bound country.

A good solid showing for us in Europe and a goal aided strong first half of the season, clubs will be queuing up with much bigger money. Regardless of any doubters we have, he's loaded with potential and future value.
To punt him away for IMO something like £1.5 mill now would come back to haunt us.

All good except after that first half season he's free to speak to other clubs.
Gotta tie him down before we start playing clever with that.

His contract is up next summer! No chance we sell for more money in January than this window.

Hibs are always a selling club.

Every club is always a selling club I spose. What I meant was right now we are under no pressure to sell anyone in our first 11 unless its a really juicy offer. This also means the weegies can sling their hooks too. Hopefully in this new era there'll be no more cut price bargains winging their way along the M8.

Better wages is all it takes.
The teams mentioned may well offer more financially ,but they are not going to enhance his international chances if that is as important to Lewis in his personal ambitions/ progress.
A stella performance with us next term may will do that and benefit both club and player
if he chooses elsewhere then ,at a possible bigger club, and wage , than those mentioned.

I certainly dont think he is unhappy being here ..Just doing what footballers do,
In the words of Noddy Holder. 😆
Look to the future now,
Its only just begun !!! 😂

The way I see it, of the camarades from last season we have lost NMW and Triantis possibly, if we want to maintain our form, we shouldn’t be losing any more . All very well saying replace LM, but you don’t really know what your getting till he plays 🤷‍♂️

He's come on alot...but he's definitely not irreplaceable.

If we even got £1 million plus 20% sell on...we should bite their hand off.

Cause you can bet your ass that if he stays...in January he will sign a pre-contract.

£1m won't cut it.

Euro games just around the corner, he's likely going to the world cup, he's in the starting 11 mix.

We'd make more money keeping him here.

Not if he extends his contract

We'll be due circa £300k if he's our player at the time of the next World Cup (June/July) and is in the squad, half of that if he's away.

He'll be an important part of our season in the league and cups, even moreso if we get a European run. That could be a huge financial bonus.

But if he doesn't sign an extension he'll leave Hibs for nothing next summer.

I recon there's still a fair bit development in this lad. If he signed an extension he could potentially make us a few quid in the future but if he wants a crack down south then that's his perogatve and I'm sure we'd all do the same knowing your bank balance will probably double or triple per week! I'd cash in now if that is indeed the case.

1 .5 - 2 plus a hefty sell on would probably seal the deal.

It's a little unsettling for DG not knowing if he will need to be shopping around for another defender so soon before a crucial euro tie. I'd be holding off selling even for that fee till after the double header.

It'll be a dull one him leaving in the summer, but if we nail a successful season I think keeping him will pay off turning down the million.

Turning down something like 2.5 or 3 and risking him leave for nothing would be a completely different conversation though.

The way they deal with Scottish clubs, I doubt they will offer anything over £1.5m if there really is interest .

I would keep him, good laddie with a face that Kevin Nisbet would love, torn. If no, start at 3 Million, if English or European teams are shopping, pay the money. The World Cup is his target, extend your deal at Hibs, prove yourself, learn from the experts in David, Liam and the rest. When you fuck up at Hibs, most let it ride, the coaches work on it, no sure that will happen in Ingerlund.

Not itk but my sons best mate plays for Blackburn , so I fired off a message to him , I know players aren’t involved in comings and goings at a football club but I imagine they hear the rumours. He hadn’t heard anything. Remember when Ellie was rumoured to Blackburn , he’d heard about that one.

We can get 400k..and lose for nothing.

From what general assumption is...he's keen on a move.

Its complete profit on our side.
Maybe as a gentleman's agreement...he's paid a little more now.
He signed a contract years ago.

But the best bet is definitely let him decide.

Good player...but we can get a ready made one for the cash...plus 20% of his fee.
He's an Aussie Rules bloke.

He's a physical asset....that's pretty good at football too.

Are you serious , the days of hibs selling on the cheap to make a SMALL profit are gone hopefully. Thought you were clued up on football, you had a relapse 🤣

Was thinking ( don’t be alarmed ) :-
If we sell LM for say £1.5m - £2m, we could use the extra dough to get NT over the line AND bring in RP as a replacement AND sign a competent target man, we would then be good to go, Sorry @Beagle . If Carlsberg did transfer windows 👍👏💚🇳🇬
Oh and get Dylan Levitt’s contract extended pls 🤞

Nae need tae apologise tae me Joe. If Hibs were mental enough to re-sign RP, the apologies would be better saved for the fans who he would inevitably let down.

SDG enquired in Jan to sign Porto on loan, as Rocky was poised to leave . If SDG wanted Porto ld be happy with SDGs judgment.

Not doubting you but that would surprise me. I'm prepared to believe the rumours/anecdotes/stories that Ryan's patter behind the scenes wasn't just jovial banter that the whole dressing room enjoyed, but depending on the target of his banter could border on bullying. Yes I've heard all the "man the fuck up" arguments but that just doesn't cut it if we want the happy, together squad as stated often by Mackay for one.
For me Ryan's arrogance far outweighs his abilities and we shouldn't be considering him.
Ps... I'm sure we're not.

Plus the bad press he brought to the club with his idiotic antics whilst out getting pissed with his pals and the fuck up I’ll never forgive him for at the Euros, lunging in, out of control, giving away a penalty and getting sent off against Germany who we were making a game of it up to that point. A bawheided loose cannon.
