Club offering an extension according to a Weedgie rag. I'm unsure about this TBH. On his day he's good but good enough?

We are not going to have 22 players who are ALL exactly what we need to be where we want to be… that’s basically 2 teams… we need our best XI and then maybe at least 4/5 who can make a difference… no way we can have 22 players who are all good enough to be first pick players, it simply can’t happen.
Id like to keep LM in the regards he is worth having in the squad and can be a decent back up.
We can’t have it all, if we want our best XI then there has to be money spent on that, with as i say 4/5 on that par but imo we can’t expect every squad player to be in that mould, as some would not be happy to not be first pick, wages as well, 22 players on top wages? Can’t happen.
There needs to be some fine tuning

He’s got some really good attributes but lacks footballing nouse.

An example of this would be the Derby at Easter Road, Hearts late equaliser.

I still think he’s got plenty about him. However maybe as a squad player.

He’s from my local area .
I’ve been in company of a coupe of lads who went to school with him.
He was approached by league 1 English team last year with a fair salary increase but wanted to stay at Hibs .
Believe that’s still the case.
Dont think he’ll be short of offers in England or anywhere but he’s happy where he is .
His mate wouldn’t tell me club btw despite me filling him with Guinness 😉

He's only 24. Plenty of time to improve. Work on his strengths and iron out some of his flaws and we'll have real player approaching his peak soon.

Definitely worth keeping in my opinion.
Agree with this. The most important factors for me are that a) his flaws are coachable ones, and equally the kind of things that diminish with experience, and b) conversely, his attributes can't be "taught" -- his physicality, his natural aggression, and some real flair.

Miller is exactly the sort of player we should be keeping and improving, imo.

Every manager ( I assume Gray would be no different ) always looks to improve the squad. As others have said you still need players who have experience to be on the bench. But not only that, some players need competition for places to push them on to higher levels and keep the levels high.

There are a lot worse players at Hibs. I would keep him and if we sell him, wait for the right offer, he is an Australian internationalist.
Sometimes I'm bemused by folks expectations.
Miller aint no Carlos Alberto but he is a good solid player for Hibs.
His annoying falling over for no reason seems to be diminishing which is good.
Next some work on his defensive positioning and his concentration, and he is pretty much a shoe in every week.
atleast until out billionaire owners start splashing the cash.
mon the aussie.

you should have offered a decent drink.

Yup, too many Football Manager players, no enough fitba fans.

If the recruitment team can come up better fair enough.

We've still to see what this latest lot come up with so I wouldn't be letting Miller go any time soon!

I don’t think Miller is great by any means, but we have no idea what calibre of player the latest “recruitment team” are going to sign so I’d be included to keep him around for another year, but wouldn’t be committing to a longer term deal at this stage… he’s still very raw despite the number of games he’s played.

There’s also Megwa waiting in the wings, he’s on a very long contract so at some point the club need to decide if he’s worthy of a proper first team chance.

He looks more Aussie Rules with the way he rolls up his shorts! lol

I like him. He’s got plenty good attributes.

He’s got decent pace, he’s a grafter who uses his physicality well.
He’s more than decent in the air.
He loves to bomb forward to link up with the attack and he’s got goals in him.

Unfortunately he’s got things he needs to work on.
His passing when put under pressure isn’t great and he can have the odd lapse of concentration which can be costly.

I think he’s very much still learning his trade. Needs a good coach to help him improve.

I still think there's room to get a player out of him.

He's a big, strong, athletic and game player.
He's not scared and I think he's always kinda looked like an outside centre half.
Sure one of the Aussies on here told us over and over he was a CB in the making early days.

I think he probably should be further developed by now, but he has been competing with Cadden who's just a better player.

I think he learned some of his football from Porto though.
Lewis seems a bit of a lad, probably fancied the status and attention Ryan got.
He's been better lately imo, he's not a bad option if he can get his head down a bit. I quite like him. He doesn't back down. Just needs to stand up sometimes. Cost us some shockers fannying around though. They're not as common though, I do think he's coming along.

"His annoying falling over for no reason seems to be diminishing which is good". This seemed to stop when SDG to over the reigns as manager, don't think that's coincidence. Pretty much agree with everything you're saying

If we want to really progress and be more than a top 6/5 finish then we definitely need better than Miller.

Chris Cadden?

Been looking at our numbers this season, Millers actually a top 3 performer across the board.

I think there's a line of players we should look at before Miller.
If we really want to progress, we need to keep the players that have shown something, and compliment them with other players that show something. Then you'll find a squad of players capable instead of one that's half capable half hopeless.

He's victim of the internet taking over his narrative imo. He has been guilty of dreadful gamesmanship attempts, but he's got so much more about him than that.

Like Newell only passing backwards
Like Levitt being an attacking midfielder

He's no perfect, or a complete player. But has the tools to do the job. I'd keep Miller, get another season out him before passing a final judgement. Possibly deserves a chance to compete in a stronger squad.

The goal should always, always be to replace with better though. So if something presents itself that's clearly better then you make the move. But it's not a priority or short/mid term necessity.
I've no real issue with a current progression of Cadden, Miller, Megwa and Whittaker. Provided they're handled properly.

Not having a go at anyone when i say that there are many that think Football Manager is real life. Taking the financial aspect out of the equation, it is still people's employment we are discussing here. Pretty sure the usual employment rules apply.

According to you , we need a whole team.
'Keeper is needed.
The Cadden twins are not good enough.
The defence needs replacing.
Campbell, Newell, Amos, Moriah Welsh, Kwon are not good enough.

A keeper is needed
Chris Cadden isn’t good enough and neither is Miller.
Campbell, Newell, Amos, Kwon, Myko, Bursik, McKirdy all not good enough.
Just because you don’t think so, you must be right.

Not at all.
But those guys have not lost in how many games?
But you'd have Cameron and Mulligan replacing 2 of them?

As someone who likes Miller I also agree with those that find him infuriating.

A lot of these going down to easily I see as him often being late releasing the ball or just running into too many players. He's still quite young. I'm sure when he gets fed up getting hurt, or worse, he'll realise get rid earlier is better for his wellbeing 😆

I thought he was rotten 1st half. Couldn’t beat a man or cross the ball. Improved a bit 2nd half
He just had to knock it past the boy as he had him beat for pace, did it once i think. Didnt think he was a rotten.

Aye but made wrong decision time and time again and went back to his dramatic falling over.
As I said he improved 2nd half but 1st half was less than impressed with his performance. I do think he’s better suited to that right side of a 3 role
