Labour

Not sure you need to preface it with 'even you'. I don't love it, but I do find some of the critique a little hypocritical.
"Even you" because your defence of the indefensible with regards to Labout is pretty extraordinary. FFS even Alistair Campbell can sometimes be critical of Labour....

Interestingly you blanked the question.

How did I blank it?

Once again a decent point Jack.

But she cannot moan about fat cats taking big bonuses in cash if it is legal.

Morally it's wrong.

But what's good for Rayners goose is also good for the fat cats gander 🤔 (I think)
Snouts in trough, you say, Jimmy?

As far as I'm aware nothing that she did was illegal. Once the stuff was looked into properly rather than the rabid press going off with half a story there wasn't a story after all.
Maybe common sense should prevail and stop giving people who resign ANY kind of pay-off from tax payer’s money.
They complain when others mis-use tax payers money, bits is fine for them as it’s in the contract
Then remove it from the contract, any misuse of payments to mp’s from tax payers should be taken out of any contract.
Why is it there when it is definitely not the norm?
I’d like to hear why it’s in the contract. Probably the reason they shears get asked “to resign” instead of a sacking. It lets them further abuse tax payers money. I mean, that’s literally what it is

I agree to an extent but until they in effect vote to remove it themselves they will be given it.

Having said that I'm fairly sure the package they get is set by an independent review body who will take into account what others get with similar responsibilities. MPs will vote to accept/reject their recommendations.

I've no idea who those others might be or what they do. It's bound to be online somewhere.

Get the impression Burnham's wife is not enjoying her time so far as the UK's First lady..
Looked awfy uncomfortable in the limelight on the day her hubby became PM, and apparently was none too happy when he told her he was going to run for the third time for the Labour leadership. Doubt she will welcome the scrutiny of them whilst they are on holiday either, not to mention the media criticism of it.

Might be wrong, but I just don't think he is going to be long term in the job.

After Burnham's first day she got hammered in the media for how she looked and the dress she wore and how it fitted. Turned out she's had three kids and a double mastectomy. No idea on her views on him running.

Aye the press can be a tad unfair Archie and if they must attack then attack Burnham and no his missus.

Unreal really.

I think that's fair. Burnham has put himself in that position so needs to take whatever comes. Starmer's wife also copped a lot about being Jewish. She also didn't love the limelight.

Absolutely ridiculous tbh. By all means scrutinise every thing burnham does but unless his wife does something to cause the press to investigate there is no need for the press to comment on her. The first time i saw gordon browns kids in the papers was when he left office. Thats the way it should be. No chance in the social media age unfortunately.

Even at net zero the UK efforts wouldn't wouldn't register as a fart on the global scene. European efforts commendable.

I'm not saying our efforts are useless just that others need to do considerably more to make a difference.

Here's the coal story.

Here's a first: a union protest I don't support.

IN an unprecedented move, four trade unions have decided to boycott this year’s Labour party women’s conference, scheduled to take place in September. Their reason? The party has ruled that men may not take part in the proceedings.

That’s why the boycott of the women’s conference by four unions – Unison, Usdaw, Aslef and the Musicians’ Union – couldn’t be more ill-judged or ill-timed.

For the very last time, if I may remind folk gently and with zero smugmess , that the Party that I'm a member of The Revolutionary Communist Party predicted on here when Labour were steaking ahead in the polls, a year before the last election, that it would be a Government, no matter the Parliamentary majority that iwould be a Government of crisis from day one. That they would take foward policies that attempted to shore up the catastrophic crisis that British Capitalism finds itself in (all reversed under public , 'your fucking joking' public opinion) and that Starmer would become the most hated Labour leader and not be in place before the next election. Oh how some laughed on here.
Not a crystal ball, there is no such thing, but a sober analysis of our new Prime Minister and his route of travel under this broken system. Come back if it's wrong in a couple of years time and tell me we were wrong again, which we were not then.

Folk are looking for radical change, and have been so for many many years, so why isn't The Revolutionary Communist Party offering the outlet? And if it is why is it gaining zero traction with pissed off voters?

Be patient young man.The radical change that you highlight is not just here but Internationally. Swings from left to right and back again is happening everywhere. People knowing that the system is bust and not serving them or their families and will try alternatives again and again, looking for solutions Left and Right but as night follows day, when they experience in the here and now that nothing but, absolutely nothing, will shield them from attacks on their living standards, at the behest of the corrupt Epstein billionaire class, Bankers and Finance capital who really control our society, whether we like it or not and do not give one fuck about who gets an X we put on a ballot paper, every four years, will be looking to get support from these shysters who in reality have no solutions to this bankrupt economic system, that has run it's course and no longer progressive. Their political trusted Tories are a bust flush, so will lickspittle to the alternative second eleven until they oppose anything detrimental to them. They have got recent form with their blatantly organised attscks using their kept MSM and dare I say Israeli influence, on the Labour Party leader before Starmer which has been belatedly exposed as brutally organised outwith and inside the Labour Party MPs and right wing beaurocrats. The above article could be replicated and apply to any regime, Left or Right now Internationally..
An exemplar of this K was when I was pointing this out a year before the last election that you were waxing lyrically about Starmers laser sharp taking on the Tories at PMQs in opposition and that Reeves could surprise us all. You were off the mark on all accounts. This is not a pop at you mate but exemplifies how expectation can turn on the toss of a political coin. Burnham has not had to tackle the economic realities yet. Watch this space.

He's still here 😆
Season 3 Nbc GIF by The Office

"A Labour MP has been suspended from the party after a newspaper report questioned whether he had tried to avoid repaying a government Covid loan.

Bayo Alaba referred himself to the Labour Party over the issue and an internal investigation has been launched.

The MP for Southend East and Rochford has also had the whip suspended - meaning he will now sit as an independent MP - although it is understood the investigation does not at this stage imply any wrongdoing."

Another Politician whos family had absolutely no ties to UK....Scamming the very country that helped them.

Shock horror.

Govt issueing instructions to immigrants about how to behave.
If they dont know that sex without consent is wrong,
Sex with children is wrong and
Women are equal citizens when they get here then giving them a pamphlet and hoping for the best isnt the answer.
Its not letting them in in the 1st place
Louise Calvey, executive director of the Asylum Matters charity, said: "By singling out people seeking sanctuary as in particular need of basic instruction not to commit abuse or sexual violence, the government is fuelling hostility, suspicion and racism, instead of doing any real work to promote understanding or safety."

Well Louise Calvey would say that given whom she works for.

But there IS a problem with some cultures who see women as second class citizens.

Maybe Calvey would like to see press censorship where attacks carried out by illegal immigrants are not reported.

“Some cultures”… you do understand that cultures are not monolithic. People within the same culture can strongly disagree about gender roles.

Don’t mean to be having a go with your overall point, just explaining that I agree some men have negative views about women but that exists in all cultures etc

Yep I know cultures are not monolithic but there are cultures where woman play a subservient role.

And yes unfortunately we have folk who hate women as well.

But we should not be importing women haters.

And IF they are not prepared to adapt to the host nation and the way WE live our lives then get the fuckers out of the country.

I've read the booklet. To see what the fuss is about, it's a 5 minute read.

My take away was ... Immigrants aside there's a lot of indigenous people could do with following the guidance and they don't have the 'excuse' of ignorance of the Law 😔

It’s also worth remembering that similar arguments were made about Irish immigrants in Scotland. They were accused of bringing crime, taking jobs, refusing to integrate and creating social problems. There was genuine poverty and social disorder in some areas, but those realities were often turned into broad stereotypes about Irish people generally.

That’s why I think we need to be careful today. If an individual commits a crime, deal with the individual. If someone genuinely promotes hatred or violence against women, challenge that individual. But saying an entire group of immigrants are potential criminals or misogynists because of their cultural background is exactly the kind of generalisation that has been used against immigrant groups throughout history.

Yep I agree about our own odious fuckers and they should be hammered by the law.

But there has been a massive spike since our borders were open.

I think it was 74,000 rapes in England and Wales in a year.

And let's look at the rape gangs. Countless thousands of wee lassies raped, tortured and in some cases murdered.

Yet the fuckin rodent in Rochdale who was the main man in one of the atrocities cannot be deported even though he was born abroad.

The rape of our women and lassies is out of control.

And as you know it was an indigenous Edinburgh cvnt who raped my 14 year old grandbairn.

But anyone arriving on these shores without identity papers should be held in secure holding camps until we find out who they really are.

Because from what I've seen I see plenty mobile phones but hear there is very little ID papers.

And the UK isn't the only European nation to issue guidelines about how to act.

So I would say there IS a problem......

Several European nations have issued explicit behavioral guides, values contracts, or legal restrictions addressing gender equality and women's rights for newcomers. Countries like the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Norway, and France have rolled out targeted educational material or integration requirements detailing local laws regarding sexual consent, domestic abuse, and social freedoms.
