Even Alex Ferguson knew that sometimes players need an arm around their shoulder, though. If SDG doesn't recognise that, then it just makes him authoritarian, and that's not good management.
True but not a single one of us know his managerial style in the dressing room or on the training pitch, so it’s all moot, all I’m saying he absolutely needs to have authority and if that means no every player gets on board, so be it.
Again we don’t know what any of the players are really like but if some aren’t buying into the standards set, are not trying hard enough to adapt or to get fit, then the manager rightly shouldn’t be playing them.
Ultimately I’d rather have a manager who’s perhaps too firm than a clown like Lee Johnson.
