Kevin Muscat

I don’t understand what fitba folk see in him. He hasn’t managed with any success in a European league.
I hope they get him, basket case of a club .
They have had 15 different managers since their inception in 2012. Quite incredible.
Loyal through and through my arse.

Just your usual Hun appointment then

Strange move for Muscat.
Reports are that he's on close to US$50,000 per week in China.
I'd say that's more than Celtic's best-paid players and likely more than double what anyone's on at Ibrox.
Can the Huns match that pay deal?

I'd be confident life's pretty good in Shanghai for people on that salary.
Shanghai is far enough north to have winters, but temperatures and snowfall are similar to southern Scotland in winter months. I doubt 35°c in summer will bother a Maltese Aussie.

What's he gaining by moving to Ibrox?
If he runs Celtic close next season, he'll undoubtedly be on the radar if the likes of Middlesbrough, Derby or Southampton are looking for a manager, but he'll not be on £40k per week with any of them.

Unpleasant though it is to say, winning the Chinese League is more likely to impress chairmen at Werder Bremen, Torino, Zaragoza & Bordeaux than running Celtic close in the SPFL.

He's 52. He's made his dough. He always struck me as having less of an ego than most "hard man" types. I don't see why he needs the hassle.
If he's taking this, I'd be confident the Ibrox board has promised him £20m for January and a summer warchest.
If that's the case, I think he'll do a decent job.
It's neither my business nor Muscat's where that money will come from😂.

It is beginning to look like Muscat is getting the gig, but he isn't going to take up the reins until after the Chinese football season finishes in a month or so.

That's likely to Muscat's advantage.
The League Cup semi-final in a fortnight is a big game for the Huns.
If they lose, it's not on his watch.
If they win the semi-final, he'll have a free hit in the final. That could be his 1st game in charge. He's not going to be the prime scapegoat if Motherwell or St.Mirren beat them.
They'll possibly be out of Europe by then.
He'd likely have two months and the transfer window before they've to play anyone of Queen's Park's ability in the Scottish Cup.

*edit* League Cup final is not until the second weekend of December, so unlikely to be his 1st game.

🤔Note: Did Bobby Williamson not win English Division 3 in his first game at Plymouth after they poached him?

Muscat's Shanghai Port won 4-3 today, recovering from going 1-0 down early.
Both pursuers also won, so the lead remains at 2 points. Three games to play.

That surname feels like there's good meme material in there. Not quite sure what yet though.

🤔Hmmmm.... Weh-eh-elll.... If having a predilection for using someone else's anal sphincter as a masturbatory aid is a sound criterion on which to "identify" and a cause for celebration, than it's only fair that being sexually aroused by what comes out of the same anal sphincter should also be celebrated... In terrace chants, if necessary.

Ohhh! Can't use this now!

Agadoodoo Postecoglue Posteciglou Pastecoglou

I can't think of anyone.

As a bouncer has already said, bringing wee Barry and co back will keep them off the Hun loving pundity on the Beeb for a while. Surely, these last two failures demonstrate the Huns have become even more toxic and Orc hoards even more unstable.

Heard an Orc on Talksport saying they should go for Vincent Kompany at Bayern……………..who and what do they think they are with that thought. If that’s a mindset then they really are deluded.
About as bad as SSN now saying jordan pickford is the best goalkeeper in the world. Delusion is rife in the world of football 🤣

Both uglies think that managing their club is the pinacle of a manager's career. No, it's a stepping stone to the EPL.
They still think they're relevant at the top table of European football. :3:

So relevent that their ambition is to move to the EPL and it’s never going to happen, mores the pity 😩
Rather they went into a Euro League that would just show how dross they are. Once there, no way back into Scottish Football, it would continue to be fun to watch their demise.
