Just back and Well worked us out.....

We were utter shite tonight. I was remembering back how even a mediocre Hibs side could beat Motherwell 6-3 back in 1985. *NEVER* have I watched in 35 years a Motherwell side so comprehensively batter us at home. We were utter shite. And let's be honest we were up at Dundee United.

A comprehensive 0-0 battering? Yes we were below par today and really disappointing, but we've still had the best start to a season in years and I like that we still got something in spite of not playing well.

Be happy mate, there's lots to be happy about ?

It was a tough watch, being outplayed by Well. I guess it's credit to the team we didnie lose, and lose we probably would have under Heckingbottom… Rocky's save was a worldy and it wis never a goal but, be thankful the ref didnae make a shite decision. Let's take a point and, top of the league for a wee while even.

Thanks for the just back. Motherwell proved last season they're no a bad outfit but we need to be a bit more savvy. Great start or not, we were a tad lucky on Tuesday to get the win a tadder lucky to get a draw today.
I honestly believe we will do well this season but clearly, there's still work to do.

Good upbeat report. Thought McGinn was very good today. Almost Super. Rocky did it when it counted. Boyle could have even won us the game on 2 occasions. It's nice to be top and worth celebrating. That said we're just not very good, not yet. One decent half out of 8 is a cause for concern. We may get found out pretty soon if Ross doesn't get that midfield sorted. The positive side is we have a great keeper, solid defence, fine wide players plus strikers who'll score goals. It wont take much to take us to the next level. When we're this close to a team that can sustain a challenge in top 3 hope the club invests accordingly. Sign Messi. He needs to be at a club that's going somewhere.

Isn’t it funny teams are often praised for battling their way to points when not at their best, yet we as Hibs fans see that as a negative?

There is a lot of work to do, until we get a player who can take the ball off the back four and help us build attacks from deep we’ll constantly be trying to play on the counter.

Mallan could be the man for the job, he did that role well in his first season. His passing and range of passing is good, and the likes of Gogic and Newell (and maybe McCrorie if he signs) would give us good balance.

Sorry if we want to progress and finish in the top 3 this season then we shouldn’t be dominated by a team like Motherwell at home, this was our chance to create some daylight between us and other teams and we failed with that shite performance.

If we want to finish 3rd we shouldn’t be dominated by teams like Motherwell who actually did finish 3rd last season whilst we finished 6th? Got to put things in perspective, we think think we should be finishing 3rd but on recent seasons we are lucky to be a top 6 team never mind top 3. There’s been progress made and if we can keep up defending like we have then there’s every chance we could finish 3rd as I don’t think there will be many games this season when we won’t score A goal in the game. Last season we pretty much needed 3 goals for a win and 2 for a draw, defend like we have so far and 1 or 2 goals can secure the win hopefully

John Collins has described us a long ball team, with the way we continuously launched it up the park it was hard to argue.

The middle of the pitch needs addressed and so does our wingers on yesterdays performance, the defence is fine.

Good report. Thought we needed a player like Turnbull or Campbell that could inject some urgency and drive in the midfield.

Theres nothing wrong with the wingers. How many balls have we put into the box this season already?
Its support thats missing, Newell won't break into the box and Gogic shouldn't really be expected to while the fullbacks are up the park.

I'd rather look at what we're doing right? What is wrong with people? Motherwell are a good side, anyone looking at them after 3 games and thinking otherwise is absolutely deluded.
Yes, we need someone to take control of the game, but why would Jack have changed a winning side? A winning side that was getting praise 3 days earlier.

We didn't do good enough yesterday, but we came away with a point regardless. Not everyone else can say that when they're not good enough.

So Huns get held to a draw. Will save further tears from some hopefully.
Keep the Faith.

What were we doing right yesterday they absolutely battered us, it was a real chance to kick on and go 12 points instead of dropping two points at home. I was expecting a better performance yesterday to the one we saw at Tannadice, Newell done nothing yesterday he was making backward passes when there was no need to, he doesn’t give us any urgency, Gogic was chasing down three of their midfielders hence why we are crying out for more steel in there.

It’s all about opinions eh, JR should have made the changes at HT, anyone could clearly see we were struggling through the middle, O’Donnell ran from his position in defence right through our midfield, Gogic was marking Campbell yet Newell just watched him ghost by him without even a challenge not good enough.

Battered us to a 0-0 draw.
Good for them.

I am delighted with our start, 10 points from 4 games we would have bitten your hands off for, I am also happy with JR as we are building a team of young raw players that know our league, I just wasn’t happy with our last two performances. All good teams build from the back and I am happy with our defence, but we are still too weak in the middle which JR has also noticed with bringing in McCorie, my opinion is we need an upgrade from the likes of Halberg, Horgan, Newell, Mallan. New faces seemingly arriving this week so hopefully they will fill in the gaps we are missing.

Bad day in the office. It will happen now and again and we'll come away a point or 3 worse off.

Hopefully we'll have fewer and fewer poor games as we learn and slog out a long season.

Still top of the league.

It's all about results. Usually though performances give you the results. However, I the three games I've watched on TV the results have been better than the performance. I expect better from us. Offensively I'm far from impressed but defensively we're much improved. Yesterday disappointed me hugely as it reminded me of how we performed in the last Edinburgh derby.
