I really hope this is not true, but a good friend of mine (who is a jambo), is friends with an ex-journalist for the mirror who has now launched his own hearts paper. He tells me that the press have some big news on 2 hibs players, but it will not be released until the week leading up to the semi final. He wouldn't tell me who or what is involved as he had been "asked to keep quiet" about it. Has anybody heard anything, or is this guy just on a wind up?
 
Funnily enough one of my best friends is an ex mirror sub editor/ journo. I'll ask about see if he's heard anything
 
I only know of one player who is trouble. Simon Brown with SFA.:hmmm

There is no way a newspaper reporter would would sit on a 'scandal' for two weeks.

They're not involved in a 52 Million quid heist are they?

Surely if this was of a criminal nature it would be out by now! and if not then is it not just rumours/inconsequential!

So, let me get this right, a jambo mate of yours, who's mate, also a jambo, is starting up a jambo paper, and he's got the goods on 2 Hibbies, but he's not gonny release it 'til the week o' the semi, which just happens to be against the jambos ...

It's all true, I heard two players got parking tickets last week.

journalists made redundant by Trinity Mirror. Planet Hearts hits the streetswith an initial print run of 10,000 copies being distributed to retailers across Edinburgh, Fife, the Lothians and Borders regions.

So...

These anti-Hibs stories are going to appear in a paper that will be written by Gunts and read by Gunts (large print and loads of pictures I assume?). It will have as much veracity as an anti-Celtic story in the Rangers News or an anti-Rangers story in the Celtic View. Who cares? :roll: :roll:
 
...and another thing.

I can just see them all going into WH Smiths to buy their wee paper, then buying a copy of Big Juggs Monthly to hide it in. :wink:

It's perfectly workable.

The journo's are employed by the Lithuanian News and loaned back to Planet Hearts.

I don't know the guy, but my pal seemed very sure about something. As to the extent of the scandal, I dont know. I asked but he wouldn't give me an answer, he had said that he got the story from someone at the record as he still has lots of contacts within the media.
As i said before I hope it's all bull

Just wanted to see if anyone had heard any rumours

ie it's a shit stirring story that even the Record won't print. I think that shows how important (or how true) the story is.

If they're printing stuff that The Record won't publish I give it two issues before they are hit with enough libel suits to finish it off...
 
I can imagine the shite they are going to print will be about Hibs players seen in bookies and pubs and no doubt Racist Deek will get a mention. Just trivia that wont bring a law suit but enough to keep the uglies reading the paper amused.
 
Suggest all pubs in the Leith vicinity laminate it and have it placed expertly in their urinals for us to pish on.

For this to succeed they will need strong funding behind it. In order to hit sales of 10,000 it will need much more than "..with the promise
of star columnists, news, interviews and prize give-a-ways.":hmmm

Lets not give them the publicity they need.
 
some folk maybe got the wrong end of the stick I don't think the original poster was suggesting that new new publication will be printing sensationalist stories about Hibs players but was merely suggesting that the usual tabloids may be planning to run stuff prior to the semi which may or may not be true.

I think the new paper will be a bland official style affair with interviews etc not libellous stuff

My pal brought it into work today, and it looks crap. Very poor use of grammar. It's not got many pages and most of them contain pictures of monkeys with mowbray name . They have launched a t-shirt of a monkey with some slander under it .Looks total pish
