Full Time: Hibs 1 v 0 Partick Thistle

I hope to fuck I'm wrong, but I feel we're in for a rude awakening on Thursday.
Bit early for teams but I'd have Megwa in over Passlack, more secure, thought he had a really good game. Always seems to get better as games progress so maybe needs to work on that so he is ready from the start but I really like him. Lovely play to set up Elding as well.

I would too,. I think with the right coaching and run of games, he could become a really good player.

I hope you're wrong too.
I'm hoping that them being a stronger side, a proper European side, will give us a go and that will lean into us performing like we did this time last season.

We're capable of matching sides, but I feel like it needs them to be at the races in order to kick us into gear.

I hope you are right... we always seem to need a sucker punch goal against to spur us into action.

But we will never be the complete counter-team DG visualise without at least one confident, capable quick striker who can deliver a decent chances-into-goals conversion rate.

I actually think that's Elding. He gets better and better every game. His biggest sin for me is that he often stops dead and almost gives up when he's been dispossessed. That's where Lowe, Chaiwa and Mulligan come up trumps because they are always straight back in the thick of it fighting to recover the ball. The problem with those three (or at least the last two) is that they lose the ball too often.

The thing that really did my head in on Sunday was at a throw-in where we (it might have even been Mayor) threw the ball straight to a Partick player. That's just not good enough. We need to find spaces off the ball or come short. To quote Johan Cruyff “Without the ball, you cannot win.” I think he also said “If we have the ball, they can’t score.” He had a point.
