From Hamilton is apparently who we've targeted to replace Jackson Irvine according to journalist Scott Burns.

3 goals in 90 games including while at Livingston. I'm not hugely excited about the level we are targeting being honest...

He is a defender/CDM. Not a goal scorer. Pitching him as a replacement for Irvine isn't helpful...

I'd be delighted if we signed this lad. He really impressed me anytime I saw him for Accies. He'd be able to do what Bamba used to do for us.

I rate him.
Mentioned him a while back. Highest rated player outside the old firm in the league.
Most interceptions per game than anyone else, second most blocked shots on goal, wins battles in there air.

Plays at the back or in midfield.

Definitely someone we should look at.
We do lack goals across the pitch though.

I get that ,K. Its not a 'big name'. It doesnt inspire me either.
But, it may well be that this geezer( he is from Barnet!) fits the jigsaw along with JDH.
Sum of the parts and all that swaddling.
We'll soon find out.
If he signs ,of course.
 
Would this be as a replacement for Gogic then? I'm not hugely enthusiastic about the level we appear to operating in recruitment-wise either. Premier league basement and relegated clubs. Also, we already have plenty of non-goalscoring midfielders - loads of 'em!

I'm aware of that. It was more the pattern of clubs we seem to be recruiting from that worries me than specific players, he may well be a good player. Would he be a replacement for Gogic?

I don't mind who they played for before, but yeah, he would be imo. He's alot more energetic than Gogic, could be our very own Kante.

As for the pattern of clubs, we should be taking the best players from clubs below us, thats what Hunco, Oldco and Celtic have been doing since time began.
He's established himself as a player capable of playing up here, we're the next step and at 23 there's plenty room for improvement and potential to be sold on for profit down the road.

Kinda, if we are signing him as a midfielder, he was doing a similar job to Gogic for Accies but with pace and skill rather than traditional enforcer tactics.

He caught my eye for Hamilton because he was constantly winning the ball back, keeping it and starting an attack again. Any time Hamilton did anything worthwhile on Sportscene he seemed to be the player that got things going.
 
It's unpopular but Gogic isn't good enough either. That he gives 100% all the time correctly gives him much credit. He's a good squad player but he's a little short on quality for me....

This for me too. There’s no doubt he added some steel to the midfield, something we badly lacked, but I think we should be looking to improve on him this summer. For this coming season I’d like to think we view Gogic as a squad player rather than a guaranteed starter.

Just expect him to lose his starting spot, he can still come on and play when and if we need a bit of steel.

How would Scott Burns know this? Is someone from Hibs leaking him stories? I very much doubt it, or Hamilton trying to start a bidding war, but according to some on here the guy is way below our standards.

Overseas is an issue now. Brexit has forced work permit changes on us.

And we've had more than our fair share of random ass journeymen from England.
But you're focusing in the club they play for rather than their merits as a footballer.

It doesn't matter a shit what some on here think about the guys ability.
They are entitled to their opinion, but that's all it is, an opinion.......
based on seeing the guy in the flesh 3 games a season under normal circumstances.
If JR thinks he's a fit, then so be it.
 
Some punter is saying we've agreed terms, ironing out the details with Hamilton.

Still think he would be a great signing.

Always looked good when we played them and he's a statistical beast in midfield. Not great as a fullback which was his natural spot.

The punter page seems fake though, so probably still nonsense.
But its not the first place we've been linked. Could be something in it.

If we want to keep on progressing then for me our shopping list needs to be better.

You just said he wasn’t a great full back, but yes for me the players coming in have to be better than what we have, the players we are linked with doesn’t seem to offer us that.

And I also said he was brilliant in midfield 🤷‍♂️
And i think he's better than Gogic, numbers back that up. which is exactly what we want... better than we have.

How many Midfielders do we need though and that wouldn’t make any sense when Ross said he wants defenders and strikers.

As many as we want.
If we're playing 4231 then we've got 5 midfield spots to fill and cover. We still don't have proper true cover for Gogic, and Jacks quote is something alongside the lines of ''we need to strengthen defensively'' not.. We need defenders.

Have you seen this lads stats? He could play for any team in the league and do the job, why shouldn't that be for us?

You love your stats eh 🤣, you said he is better than Gogic, seeing as your stats man Gogic had the best stats outside of the Old Firm when he signed for us.

Stats don't lie, stats aren't opinions.
And that's the exact reason we signed Gogic.
Odoffin is the best performing player outside the old firm last season.

Isn’t JDH best position defensive midfield also?
