Graham Taylor

Assassinated by the Sun with a very slow but deadly bullet.

EDIT: Actually maybe it was a hatchet job - amounts to the same. He nor his career ever recovered from the mauling they gave him.

Sent by telepathy.

Subject of IMO the best football documentary ever made...and a very good club manager who took unfashionable Watford from the 4th Division to the old First Division in six years. International management is a completely different job to club management though and IMO he was badly let down by his players when he was England manager and was slaughtered by the media down there. A good football man never recovered from that ordeal.

RIP Graham

Seemed a genuine decent bloke and was always one of my favourite TV & radio pundits. Also bought De La Cruz from us for Villa in 2002 IIRC? RIP

2 goals against the gunts: his only goals for the Hibees so no better team to score them against. The first one was a beezer if I recall correctly. He's a politician now in Equador.

Any fitba man of Graeme Taylors level deserves football peoples respect.

Was saddened to read this today..always seemed a decent bloke.

The documentary he was a part of was compulsive, if uncomfortable, viewing at times and Im sure we can all quote lines from it, which shows how enduring it is. In my opinion one of his greatest strengths in his openness and willingness to make himself available to the press actually ended up being used against him as the tabloids absolutely tore him to shreds. Even after that he was willing to talk to the media about his time as England manager with refreshing honesty and lack of cliche. You might not have always agreed with his thoughts on football but there was absolutely no doubt he passionately loved the game itself.

RIP Graham

Slaughtered by the Ingerlish journos who delighted in belittling him.

The 'turnip head' jibes in particular were disgraceful.
Seemed a proper fitba' bloke to me.

A decent guy doing what his bosses thought he'd be good at. And he was decent.

Meanwhile the media, who can't help cum across as a bunch of fuckwits with little or no appreciation of what's going on, carry on regardless.
