F*** Salma Hayek

{edit, changed the name of the thread, apologies for drunken bawbaggery]

Bitter much?

Salma Hayek is right: compared with women, men are lazy and entitled | Julie Bindel | Opinion | The Guardian

And fuck Julie Bindel

Julie Bindel | The Guardian

Firstly, the pay gap has been utterly debunked with actual factuals and economic science (but dinnae let that get in the way of a good bit of man hating).

But more importantly, if emotive pish ever is more important than facts (which does seem to be the case with these epic misandrists); we are not your generalisation. Just as much as you aren't ours.

Fuck women that hate men and fuck men that hate women. Stop using your own personal experience to define your ill-informed view of either gender.

I get the vibe from a lot of women that I should just accept that there are some asshole women that spout this pish.

And really, we (men) know that we have more than out fair share of equivalents.

However; we will be rightly shouted down for this kinda talk. They, will be celebrated and cheered.

What messages are we sending?

WONT SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN?!

If Selma Hayek told me the world was flat I would believe her.

Sigh.

Once the Muslims take over,we won't have to listen to so called Womens rights :raisehat: :077:

Pieces like this really does no favours for women fighting a valid cause.

Women do face sexism in the workplace, and certainly have to work harder to get the same recognition as men - there have been plenty of experiments that prove this, its bullshit, and it is an attitude that needs challenged. I would agree with the concept that men are "privelaged" in the workplace due to the attitudes of some of their peers and I can even sympathise with the anger that would lead to someone writing an article like the one above. However, attributing negative characters like laziness and selfishness to an entire gender will only breed bitterness and contempt among both genders and it is ultimately a hindrence to real progress.

Listened to this about a year ago or so. It's a really god piece of analysis.

Might seem a joke here, but not in other countries, try being a woman in Pakistan which is almost fully Muslim. Least some woman are trying to stand up against that oppression

Pakistani Womens Human Rights Organization

But maybe rape, acid attacks and mutilations seem funny when it is the other side of the world

I'm pretty full on critical of Islam. Much more so that I think I'm supposed to be as a lefty liberal.

I'm also pretty sure I'm the opposite of a cultural relativist. An argument I have regularly with folk irl.

The comment of mine you quoted was me trying to be funny, at my own expense, in response to Pilton's reference to my other thread.

It's cool, man :). I've come to the conclusion that in life I should just give folk the benefit of the doubt, plenty times they prove me wrong (or right, if you know what I mean) but it feels much better. And, I often spot nuances that I might not have before. Then again, the internet and any electronic communication is a really tough set of medium to be sure of someone's intentions.
