Edinburgh roads

Road works at Liberton Hospital as well.

And my grandson said Drum Street has roadworks as well.
Right oot side my lassie's hoose Jimmy. They had lights up there tae put a new pelican crossing at the Co-op, they only took them doon last week, now there's drainage problems or some shite.

Buses still coming up the Avenue I think. It's coming down from Gilmerton road to Moredunvale Road that seems to be a problem.

Aye, nae change coming from the Royal, the other way will be the problem. The 8 is going right up Gilmerton Road turning at Supperbowl and the 18 is going straight over instead of going doon Gilmerton Road

Anyone been down Pennywell Road recently? Looks like it's been hit by multiple drone strikes. Punctured my offside front tyre on the way to Cramond Promenade to walk the dog. Had to call the AA when it turned out the VW dealer had neglected to provide us with wrench to get the wheels nuts off, in with the spare tyre and jack. Not amused. Part of the exhaust was fucked too. :52:

Got a puncture after swerving tae miss a stupid cvnt on Frogston Road. Limped down tae Quick-Fit in Morningside. The young laddie receptionist asked if I had the locking wheel nut key, after a search in the boot and glove compartment I remembered had taken the booklet with all the paraphernalia yi get wi a new car in the hoose tae read it and never put it back in the car.
So almost hame on the bus tae pick up the key and my phone goes, an older guy from Quick-Fit, all apologetic, your car (an MG) disnae have a locking wheel nut. Good news was it was ready by the time got a bus back, and the young cvnt that had me on my way hame was naewhere in sight.:icon-rolleyes:

Drum street has been like this for a few weeks. Looks like they have done most of their works, bar left one radge hole in the ground making for a 3 way traffic light. Which was originally 3 way, then reduce to one and back up again. Horrific for those heading out of town.

Farcical likes

My lassie lives there C, I'm sure Burke and fuckin Hare are the contractors, they dig it up so often. :coffee1:

My wife works at the doctors just off that road, its a fucking menace. The developers of the flats should have been made to fix it, i've driven on better forest roads!

When we got the car from the dealer, they didn't provide a kit for the locking wheel nuts. Our local garage mechanic asks for them. Had to go back to VW and get a new set ordered as they are specific to each vehicle. And they have the cheek to phone us every year asking if they can do our MOT and service. 🙄

You got a spare tire?!! You jammy git. VW here don’t give you a spare tire. You get a kit that seals the puncture and inflates the tire at the same time. Similarly, my Mini didn’t come with a spare either. I had to buy a puncture repair kit for that too. It did work when I got a puncture.

Outcome of the tram consultation.

Whats the betting on the council just doing what they wanted anyway ... whatever that was 😆

Even the Proclaimers mention the state of Edinburgh's roads on their song Streets of Edinburgh.
The roads really are in an appalling state though in this city.
Can never understand why the council can't get the basics right, like refuse collection times, fixing potholes on the roads, and clearing sivers. I remember as a bairn watching the siver man coming round and clearing all the drains and sivers.
They have to be blocked and flooding before a private contractor gets sent to clear them in Ayrshire nowadays

I saw yesterday that the ESPC (probably an independent source in the debate) has said people along the Newhaven extension have seen a 37% increase in the value of their homes in the 3 years it's been running.

I thought it was a bit of a con as the average house price in Edinburgh has maybe gone up a similar amount but it's not even close!

I wonder how many of those registering dissent are now :sm113:

The streets round Morningside are the worst I've seen in years... you would think the fact the flats are half a million each that th he roads would suit the property prices

I also saw yesterday some Edinburgh citizens, from Colinton I think, whinging at the state of their roads while the council resurface roads that are still in good nick at nearby 'leafy Bonaly".

I've wondered in the past how the council select roads and pavements for resurfacing as it often seems perfectly fine roads and pavements are resurfaced while those in a 3rd world dirt track condition round the corner are left to get worse.

If it’s like oot here in the sticks, ask where the cooncillors and cooncil executives live😉

Mind it's the garden party bollocks up toon the day so travelling hame is usually a nightmare.

Theres going to be roadworks around Cameron toll in the next couple of weeks.
SSE doing some works.
Seen all the different coloured markings under the Lady Road tae Dalkeith Road side of the bridge. I think its just that side thats getting closed.

Under the bridge? Deary fucking me… Is been shit so many times its actually like they deliberately hold stuff off so as to cause disruption in longer terms.. I’ve said it so many times… these cvnts are a village hall council playing at being a global city council. Really is shocking administration of the city

If they’re going to the hospital then shawfair is a no brianer and sensible you would think, but it’s ECC so they’ll leave at a mile short of a park and ride already in existence at the city’s boundary

Just came over to Newbridge on the bypass.

East bound was nose to tail from Lothianburn back to the Calders turn off

I was at Murrayfield hospital yesterday , first time in Edinburgh for a good while and the roads are still awful potholes everywhere . Mind you the whole country is the same

Job as a porter, or just visiting a patient hopefully.
