Dixie Chicken said:Since he can't play in the semi, his last chance to make a commitment to Hibs is to sign a new contract now and boost the team for the match of the century. Otherwise forget about claims to be with us. NOW Deek!

fishybeaver said:Deek wont sign with Hibs, even if we made him the best paid player ever at ER, he could still get more going someware else. Garry O get 18k per week, no way will Deek be happy with say the 5k we could manage.
He will do the dirty on us, but who can balme him with the sort of cash available now adays.
Grant1875 said:The only thing that annoys me is the fact he's in the papers saying how much of Hibee he is, how he loves scoring goals for his beloved Hibs etc etc, so why no sign a deal ?!?!? IMO I think there's something went on behind the scenes.
If he leaves, then good luck to him !! He's been a special player for the cabbage.
fishybeaver said:Fair enough he is a Hibby through and through, but the offer of say 10k per week plus, your financal security guaranteed for the rest of your life by signing one contract ala Gary O, who can really blame him if he goes elseware.
I just hope it is abroad or down south, if he goes to the OF I will be devistated, all the goals he has scored will quickly be forgotton about if he signs for the smellies. Even worse than Ihun Murray as Deek has the ability do really hurt us.
Grant1875 said:Ideal scenoario, he signs a 2 or 3 year deal with a release clause, makes sense, but It won't happen.
I think his move to the huns will have went down the pan, Le Guen will flood them with French, unless Murray decides to do a Romanov and sign him.
Strachan has said he aint interested in him, he already has good young Scottish players there.
A move down south would get him the money, I have the feeling though he'd end up back at Hibs sometime in his career, you can take the boy out of Pilton, but can you take Pilton out the boy :hmmm

All the best and good luck to the lad whatever happens. Unless he goes to another Embra team then he should go with our blessing.
Dr Shrink said:Actually, I'd respectedish you more if you posted this 'cast-iron' info on both sites simultaneously rather than imply that the Bounce is some sort of after thought.
Or I would if I had the time.

Doc .. but I will post on both

What the ... there are "other" places to be outside the Bounce?Dr Shrink said:If you have serious news, (or just pish jokes) then this is the place to be.

I won't hold my breath waiting for the news that he has officially signed. If he was interested imo he would have signed on the dotted line before now when all the other players were showing their loyalty. Best of luck to him.:sadHibee_Nation said:I think they are holding back the announcement in case we need some good news next week if the worst was to happen on Sunday.

Let me start with saying that I am posting because sadly I believe the euphoria about Riordan re-signing is completely and utterly misplaced.
Given what I am about to say, I cannot see how, despite his love for Hibs that, Derek Riordan will re-sign at ER.
Just thought I'd let you know the latest with regards to Riordans management ..
1. Tickets for the Semi
Some members of his family had booked their tickets through the player, only to discover this week that they actually have none Hibs told Derek to tell the family that as he isn't part of the squad he's getting no tickets.
2. Training
Friday - He goes to training today, only to be sent on his own to run around Arthurs Seat. He doesn't need to be training with the team given he's not part of the squad, was the reason given to him. Saturday will be the same Arthurs Seat on his own. Although there are other players training there with the squad who aren't in the squad for the Hampden game.
Saturday U-turn .. he's now told to train with the others to make up for those not fit for the semi.
3. Travel to the Semi
Then he's told that he does not have to travel with the team - and can travel with the rest of the families* on their coach he decides to travel with the team. The player subsequently hears that one of the management was hoping he wouldnt travel with the team ...
* This despite the fact none of his family are allowed on it or not part of the official party as such.
4. Travel from the Semi
Riordan wanted to spend the night in Glasgow with his girlfriend - he has been denied this, as the club is insisting he goes back to Edinburgh with them after the game, although officially he's nothing to do with them for ticket arrangements or wasnt needed to travel with the team to the game !
5. Fined for an alleged assault
There have also been a serious of petty fines applied - with no parity with others in the squad, for timekeeping. Including a weeks wages because some woman phoned to say DR had tried to assault her boyfriend .. no evidence, pure fabrication but the player is fined.
So Id be staggered if following this man-management if the player re-signs.
If he leaves then IMO its little wonder giving this treatment; and those ready to have a go at the player should consider how theyd react to this scenario if it was them.
Personally, I cannot see why hed want to stay after being ridiculed and singled out for separate ticketing/training/travel/ arrangements.
IF he does sign, then it says EVERYTHING any of us need to know about his love for Hibs, and his desire to continue living the dream. It is certainly not about financial gain .. greater riches lie elsewhere - like the 10K offered by Cardiff, or the phenomenal wages GOC is seeing in Russia, or indeed with the OF.
I re-iterate my previous comments on this matter he doesnt want to leave .. It seems however he is being left with little alternative.
I sincerely hope my info is WRONG, and I am eating humble pie and celebrating Riordan re-signing with the Hibs soon .. somehow I doubt that will ever happen.

GloryGlory said:To be honest I'm surprised Riordan hasnt told Mowbray to shove his team up his arse if that is true. Then again he is a fan and is showing a lot of commitment living with that and still performing for the club. If true that is. If its Mogga treating him like that, maybe Mogga should take a think that without him he'd be nowhere. But I dont belive it.
