Hi, myself and the whole of the Hibernian Community are utterly devastated at the news that Mark Strachan aka 1875 has passed away.

He will be desperately missed by all of us & our deepest condolences go to his family & friends.

He was an outstandingly fine Hibernian, and also the finest of people.
Mark was thinking of retiring and he had mentioned he would spend his spare time with helping and fundraising for a couple of well known charities.

The first, a charity close to his heart (he helped to start it), Dniprokids.

The second was his desire to help the Hibernian Community Foundation.

If you can spare a few bob, we will split the proceeds between these 2 wonderful charities.

We, Thank You Mark.

Overwhelming response from the Hibernian Community.

Almost at £600.

It's not and is never the individual amount donated it is the thought and the collective amount that matters.
A pound wouldn't get you a coffee these days but if every Hibs supporters going to the game today donated a quid that would make a difference to alot of people.
Well done to everyone who donated regardless of the amount.
We are a caring club, football is a big part if it but there is so,so much more. Well done to the organisers and volunteers. I believe Mark will be very proud.

FAO. @HistolBribs From the St Patrick's Branch FC Groningen folk who have placed a tribute in their Supporters Club.

Fair defeat against Sparta today with a visit to the supporters' home beforehand from an 'original Spartan' and afterward a sentimental farewell to a much too soon-deceased Hibernian friend (St Patrick Branch) Mark Strachan . #GGTTH

Now that is 'Hibs class' ?

I never even thought of that. All the amazing stuff Jamie is doing and he's lost a mate at the end of the day.

Jmon, you're a legend as well man. I appreciate all you do on the Bounce.
Ive cried tears, im no gonna say I haven't.

I was in Hamilton with Lisa when Bobby called us and broke the news, it was a stunned silence and a WHAT??!!!

I mean I wasn't as close a mate as what Big Ryan or Doc are, they must be absolutely broken....

Mark was awesome, I worked in Marks hoose and did consider him a mate, watched his lads grow up from young lads when they were in there own rooms in Livingston lol. Sean now all grown up and did an awesome JB.

M was planning to move to somewhere smaller, retire and spend more time doing stuff for DK, HCF, St.Pats, and of course follow the hibees etc etc.

I said to my girl Lisa tonight im gonna make a will, she went you best not die anytime soon, I said I don't intend too, but still there you go, Mark prob went to his pit looking forward to the game and he just went. Took from us. Fucking savage life is eh, my thoughts now are, live everyday as if its yer last, coz by fuck it fucking might be.

Whilst we mourn his loss, 1875 would have wanted the site to thrive and continue to be a place where all of us, as mates, speak (sometimes bicker 😆) about hibs. Some of us have never met each other but we are all mates in some form and connection.

And its no just me here, the other admins helped organise stuff. I just set up accounts etc coz im a top techy 😆 🤣
