Club Shop

Unfortunately, like everything else, professional clubs just see the club shop as another revenue stream and will go down the route that makes them most money.
In our case we have gone with a massive international company who have paid Hibs a load of dosh in return for selling their wares to Hibernian FC's customers i.e us radges.
In a nutshell it's just business. Hell,
Hell, Hibs have even potentially sold our dead bodies to the Official Hibernian FC Funeral Director partner.

Surprised we didnae have Scorpio Leisure as our official sauna partner in order to offer guaranteed happy endings.
You mean the club owners/ceo care more about making a quick buck over the supporters? Knock me down with a feather and call me Bambi.

As far as I understand it, Fanatics not Hibs have lost your 70 notes.
It will cost the club eventually. The less strips we sell the less attractive we will be to kit manufacturers and how much they give us in the future, same goes for strip sponsor.

Doesn't have to be a quick buck. Any old buck from anyone will do be it from a supporter, sponsor, the Scottish government. All swallowed up by the football club monster.

You mean there is a connection between how much money we spend at the shop now and the amount of money Hibs can sell the contract for in the future. Who knew!

Went to the shop yesterday to buy the Green & White training top. Don't know who they're meant to fit, but the neck is very wide and low down. The material is made from the cheapest "nylon", so decided against. Had a look at other t-shirts, but the quality was really poor. The only things that got passmarks, were the purple & green 3rd strip and a couple of cotton t-shirts. Didn't buy anything 😕

I can’t get over the pricing. I have 4 year old twin boys. They’ll be 5 in November.

The mini kit goes up to a size 4 (too small) and then the junior kit starts at a size 6/7.

If I want to get them a full strip including name and number it’s £100 each. £200 for two strips for 4 year olds.

Absolute madness. There should be a limit on the price of the kids kits until double figures imo.

Just to caveat this… if it was a top with a name & number set it would be £68 alone.

I'd like to know what other clubs charge these days. Prices are crazy
I had a look no that long ago and it’s very similar priced across the league and then Celtic and rangers being a bit more expensive for all their kits as expected

It’s horrific.

Joma is popular because it’s cheap. Based on the wholesale prices Joma do; I reckon the away strip, because it’s such a simple top, gets punted to Hibs for around £12 a top badged for adult sizes. It’s a bit more expensive for the two colour tops because of the process.

£101 for my 10 years old strip on Wednesday, commercially it’s great business for Hibs but I’m not convinced with the strategy.

The last Hibs tops I bought were one white McEwan Fraser one and two Whyte & McKay (one black and one dark green). God knows how old they are but I still wear them for going to muck out the horses or working in the garden etc and they are in good nick still. I wonder if the new ones are such good quality?

Dh gate comes in handy
I was £90 this week for my daughters 3rd strips but £13 for the home strip on there

I've bought from there a few times last was for her scotland strip . £12 and there is literally no difference just have to wait for delivery (about 4-5 weeks)

Got a retro Scotland leisure strip (1988/89) from DhGate and the quality was superb. 17 quid including delivery. Didn’t know they did Hibs gear.

Seems to be new and only the home top.

I have one on order so will see what the quality is like 👍

still got a purple / green stripes and the black away with tags on i'm sure . Might fit me now

We went to an ice hockey game at MSG when we were in Noo Yawk and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, a great evening out. Finished off with pizza at $2 a slice which didn’t quite make up for the $500 admission for 3 of us. Fcuk knows how the average Joe can afford to attend games over there on a regular basis?

I'd imagine that tickets for Madison Square Garden would be some of the most expensive prices in the league too.

One way that fans in Canada afford tickets (don't know about US) is by sharing season tickets among families, friends and workplaces etc. The regular NHL schedule is 82 games, they play three or four times a week mostly, so sharing makes sense.

trouble with our masters is they grew up in a country where there major sports are boring as fuck

I'd say most football matches are as boring as fuck these days, to be honest.

I was in pre match, bought my pals son a smart training top and finally they have Hibs pennants back in.

I've got a purple Carlsberg strip with the new badge?
Wasn't the purple strip in the above yellow and green? Can't remember a purple one, but I was wee. Le Coq Sportif?

Probably wrong 😁

A bit before your time but the insave top has the wrong badge on it. I don’t think the badge they’ve stuck on the insave top was ever used on a strip.

It’s the attention to detail.

I'm noticing this elsewhere, made a few comments along the way. Problem with getting rid of all the Hibs people. No hard to find someone who can volunteer their knowledge.

Saying that, I never even noticed it wasn't the proper old badge. So no exactly paying attention myself 😅 just the purple LCS strip I don't recognise.
Were we playing intertoto or something that year? I've definitely got a yellow and green one identical and a completely different purple one at my mums.

Both the purple strips above are mitre - did the shirts from 94-98 before lcs took over in 1998.

Looking at old strips I think the badge third from the left maybe wrong too.

But maybe the retro range isn’t aimed at people who had these strips

Yeah, I've just googled them all.
I've got both yellow ones obviously and getting them mixed up.

Purple version of the first on the left was my favourite kit for years when I was wee. Bukta? Probably still got that too.
