I'm pretty ambivalent.

I was interested enough to watch the game so I reckon I will follow follow their games.
Doesn't mean I want them to actually win any of them though.

I was quite pleased Celtc qualified tonight.

It raises the profile of the Scottish game, gives the coefficient a wee boost and Hibs will get around 150,000(last year 120,000)from UEFA TV pool money along with the rest of the SPL clubs.

Champions League Group games have become increasingly dull over the last few years and Celtc and their excellent home record and kamikaze away form will make it semi interesting.

Happy to be in a minority of one so it seems.

The income they would lose by not qualifying would hurt them more than the extra money the rest of the SPL clubs might get if they do.

The hundred grand or so that we`ll receive will probably pay the leccy bill at ER for the next year or so. Aint that sweet.

.Celtcs millions will go to make them considerably stronger next year....and the year after. Isn`t that just great for the Scottish game. :coffee:

As for the co-efficient........who cares? The greed and influence of Glasgows bigots have emasculated the rest of Scottish football to such an extent that no matter which two or three of us qualifies, we are guaranteed to fail within the first couple of qualifying rounds.

Celtc can go and fuck themselves.

I think the day when Celtic fail to qualify for the champions league group stages for the third and fourth and fifth time on the trot will be great for Scottish football...the Scottish co-efficient did eff all for us this year.

Anyone know if it's only 3rd place in the Champs League group stage that moves on into the Europa cup.

Was having an argument with an unwashed friend of mine.
He was saying he wasn't fussed about where they finished in the group stages because they would get into the Europa cup and reckoned they would do really well there... danni
To which I replied they'd need to come 3rd otherwise they'd be going home with nothing extra to look forward to, and told him that Ajax were a far better team than Celtic and that they'd be lucky to get 2 points out of that group without some major transfers (although I think a few players would be into the idea of trips to Milan, Barcelona and Amsterdam, with nights at Parkhead against 3 of Europes greatest clubs)
But he's adamant that 4th place still goes through... Bla bla bla, although I'm like 99.99% certain only 3rd placed teams do.
