Coming to C4. Should be an improvement on the prima donnas and prawn sandwich munching rich man's play things of the English Premier League.

Feel I should pick a team to follow, though.

Best league in the world in my opinion.

Obviously England and Spain have tge big names and all the tv over here but as far as I know everything about that league is better.

Stadiums, standing, fan passion, beer, it's all designed to push the German national side, money isn't too daft (except the wages Robben and Ribery pick up) just the whole structure really.

I'm going to have to decide between Hamburg, Munchen and Wolfsberg

Got a link for this or was it advertised on TV? Couldn't see anything from a quick google search and looks like ESPN will see out the season based on games in next month or so and ITV4 highlights will continue.

Let me help you choose a team.

Hamburg = Huns

Munchen = fans all over the country, hoover up the best talent, sound familiar?

Wolfsburg = Volkswagen FC. No VW money = no football club so reliant are they on inflated sponsorship deals. Every year they squander shitloads of millions on failed purchases from much bigger clubs.

Enjoy the games as a neutral or go for Werder...

I only support teams from the world's most beautiful cities. Hibernian, Spurs, Fiorentina, New York Knicks, Green Bay Packers !!!), maybe Munchen - pity no Berlin teams in the Bundesliga

Good on you Kurty, now wheres the f*cking link?

p.s When you say support, how often do you "support" Hibernian exactly?

That rules you out of being a Scheisse fan then. How about Koln or a Dusseldorf team, or perhaps Paderborn 07.

I would watch that. I would choose Eintracht Frankfurter, because Daz said they are not scheisse, but it has to be a green and white team, so Borussia Munchentadger or Werder Bremen for me. Danke.

Good choice, proper club with good history and big crowds especially recently due to their success last season.

This is who Marco Reus was playing for last year eh? They are a good side with a cracking stadium.

Indeed, until Dortmund paid 17m+ to get him back 6 years after releasing him.

Gladbach have struggled this season though.

Aye I wasn't sure of the fee but I knew he went there, is he a winger, a forward or just behind the attacker, ive seen him play all 3 and he's a quality finisher, excellent replacement for Kagawa

I watched a Gladbach game earlier in the season and if it wasn't for Ter Stegen they would have been pummelled. Germany has so many really really good keepers, none of which will get a sniff at the national side while Neuer is fit.

That's the team I will be "following".* One of my mates is a Dortmund fan so it makes some sense.

*I didnt say supporting.

Are you waiting for C4's coverage to start before you begin your "following" Dub?
Might be a long wait as Kurt's gone awfy quiet since he was asked for a link or evidence of it.

Where does your mate come from?

Nah Bob, I keep an eye out for their results already mate - not a weathered eye mind, just an eye. I'm agog with anticipation awaiting Kurts return with the appropriate link. My mate is from Dortmund.

Was hoping they would get drawn against the plastics in the Champs league as we were planning to go to the games [Dortmund end obviously]. Never mind

Good to hear, not a gloryhunting wank then.

Aye, that will be some love in between those two and will result in more Celtic taps on display in Dortmund.

Eintracht Frankfurt for me. Great stadium and fans. :applause:

Frankfurter jungs,
Frankfurter jungs,
Wir Sind alles
Frankfurter jungs.

Did I ever tell the story of signing autographs as an ex Dortmund player?

Hopefully not.

I mind a couple of Bouncers once ended up in a Cocktail bar in Mainz after watching a Hibs Pre-season game,I was Kenny Miller,NewhavenHibby was the Scottish version of Gazza and Gunner was erm....

Someone had to buy a round with smash as we were a bit light on funds by this time,eh Colin :laff:

Thanks Kurt, it takes a big man to admit he made a total cant of things.

I missed this article when it first came out in August though so thanks for this.

Kind Regards
They have an hour of highlights on a Monday night...

Watching Werder Bremen v Hannover 96 the now on ESPN. I`ve got to be a Werder fan.....it`s a quality strip that. :thumbgrin

And if memory serves me right, did the great Gunter Netzer (pardon the spelling) play for them in the 70's?
