Block 7

I don’t think they’re necessarily entitled but it seems to be they are Hibs obsessed in a way that goes way beyond most of us.

I doubt it’s a life long obsession unlike the rest of us

The Capo admits in that podcast he is facing the crowd most of the game, so why he thinks he needs to speak to the players right after a game, before our new manager does, seems a bit self entitled to me.

I am sure most of block seven who have paid their membership fees weekly are die hard Hibs fans. But it is becoming or has become a big youth Sub Culture now, and lots of young ones want to join in. My cousin has had Season tickets for himself and now his laddies at Celtic for about 25 years. But his laddie is now 14 and going to Hibs games with his pals to be next to Block Seven and be part of this youth sub culture.

I like some of the atmosphere ultras can bring to stadiums, but the behaviour that is allowed in other countries wont cut it here, so they need to adapt and behave themselves if they want to continue.

So... from their statement they have stated it was done in a calm manner etc directed at a senior player who they have a good relationship with, and that the Polis caused it?
If this is the case then why didn't he/they say to their bosses (hibs) ... "oh it wasn't the blocks fault"
:102:

The thing is with the megaphone if used correctly it can be a really good way of getting a crowd going.I should know I've been an active Socialist in Edinburgh for almost 40 years and know how to use a megaphone. But whoever has control of the megaphone in block 7 is absolutely clueless, same as the drummer a nae talented arsehole.

Zero accountability in the statement, as expected.

It was far from calm.

It's alleged that Felix 'invited' the Capo down to the pitch for a chat.
From my viewpoint, Felix looked far from happy at being summoned, and initially stopped the team some distance away. He then took them a bit further forward, still looking a bit grim - as did Jack Iredale. Not happy bunnies. Capo was going tonto yelling at them.
I'm not sure why he was upset. I had to watch 90 minutes of torture, he only saw about 10 minutes.

I'm not saying Felix DIDN'T gesture for megamouth to join him on the pitch, I'm just saying I didn't see it.

I find it extremely unlikely that a fan would be encouraged to jump onto the pitch in any case.

As I mentioned in a previous comment my pal who got a good view of it told me that Passlack was gesturing the ‘come ahead’.

Come ahead, as in a square go, or come ahead for a chat? In no way do I think a player (Captain) would gesture someone to come down and chat after the game

The way it was described to me was square go. Player, captain or club official. If some self important dafty is giving you over the top abuse you’re going to react in the heat of the moment.

Sounds more plausible than asking for a wee chinwag pitchside.

I was looking right at the incident and I am as certain as I can be that Passlack never made any gestures other than to try and clam the situation down as did Iredale and Cadden. All the aggression and dramatics came from within the B7 area. It was laughable. Way over the top and the arrogance is off the scale.
For a guy who stands with his back to the game to call out players is rather odd.

Aye, Felix and Jack did the "Andy Halliday" gesture, although both looked pretty miffed.
Capo defo tonto.

I was next to the incident and the capo was going radge, cause players were circa on edge of the box and he wanted them to come to him . I didn’t see any player ask the capo to jump on the trackside

It happened in Kosovo apparantly, some players went over and spoke to the Ultras Capo man for their telling off. Now the ultras seem to expect that will be a regular thing.

If the players went over for a square go with the fans they should all be sacked.

This whole Block 7 "capo" pish is laughable , characters naming themselves as if they're from the mean streets of Naples when they're more likely to be from Northfield , although its not only fish I've seen battered in the vicinity of Giovanni's chip shop !

Previous groups like "Since 1875" and "Section 43" did much the same stuff as Block 7 creating displays, leading the singing and doing charity work but never fell out with fellow fans , were accused of intimidating fellow fans or had run ins with the Police , stewards or groups of fans from other clubs.

Unlike those previous singing sections part of this Ultra "culture" seems to be an anti authority , anti establishment , up for a pagger mindset. In that regard they're no different from previous groups who've attached themselves to Hibs , but unlike them Hibs have encouraged and enabled Block 7.

Hibs , of course, aren't the only club to have a problematic "ultra" group but it's maybe time for the Club to make a permanent decision on whether the atmosphere Block 7 bring is outweighed by the negative publicity they bring ?

Not just the negative publicity, but stories of wee kids being upset to the point of tears, 'ordinary' Hibs fans being threatened and told to move from their seat to allow an 'ultra' to take it, and the notion that the team should be 'scolded' by the Capo of this mob...... sorry.... even without mentioning that feckin siren..... I'm done with them.
I can do without 'the atmosphere' they bring.

Maybe at this juncture we should call their 'atmosphere' exactly what it is?
A fucking racket.
Sing Hibs songs by all means but anything else is making a noise for the sake of it.

I didn't think 'personal' amplified sound, a megaphone, was allowed in grounds.

Is that something else that's ignored to accommodate the ultras?

I mean how much fun, adding so much to the atmosphere, if we all had one, maybe with a wee siren too :bolt:
UPDATE!

It seems the thought above was picked up and mentioned next door. Somebody looked it up!

Rules and Regulations

• Official Ban: The Scottish FA strictly prohibits loud noise-making and communication devices—including megaphones, air horns, vuvuzelas, drums, and whistles—at official matches.
• Enforcement: Clubs face penalties or safety clampdowns from local authorities if unauthorized equipment enters the stands during high-profile fixtures.

So there we have it. The club has been bending over for B7 to allow the drum, the megaphone and the bloody siren while all the time B7 has been taking the piss out the club for those 'concessions' while being a pain in the arse, minimum, threatening towards Hibs supporters and also being antisocial everywhere they go.

At the very least when they are in Easter Road the drum, the megaphone and the bloody siren need permanently banned.

Feel like I'm in a minority of one here, but I like these guys, and think they add to what is all too often a very flat atmosphere. Yeah, yeah -- "if the team started winning, the atmosphere would improve" -- but they're not. So we need these guys -- I could literally hear the players shouting at each other from the back of the east on Saturday.

I even like the siren!

Weirdo No Sense GIF

We are sitting bottom of the league, We’ve never won at home for months, the club looks totally disjointed from top to bottom and we now have Hibs fans turning on each other. Its a fucking sad state of affairs

It's a song by Beck, Loser. I changed it to weirdo.

Yes, our club is not performing atm but that can change with a win or two.

You're not alone, I think they've obviously went a bit OTT at that game but overall they add to the atmosphere, leave them be

Tbf anyone turning on block 7 is block 7s own fault.

It's no like we're arguing about football, it's behaviour.
If they just focussed on trying to improve the atmosphere instead of trying to bring "European ultras" to Easter Road or owning the stand, we'd be fine.

Aye they've certainly got folks backs up. Just saying it's only some, not all

Then they should manage them from within.
If I was trying to be a fan group, I would be getting rid of anyone causing drama in the stands.

Get caught fighting someone over a seat, you're out.
Shouting at mums and bairns, you're out.

It's doesn't have to be us Vs them. But if they're gonna sit and pretend they're doing nothing wrong in statements etc then they get judged as a whole.
