Algebra,gauze and coffee

Some say the Indians invented nothing but I think history suggests it's more accurate to say the arab world invented nothing
Zero rather than nothing surely but still a great step forward.

Of course nowadays many will say it was an invention rather than a discovery...

Well yes, I was hoping someone would spit our their cornflakes before a wise man like yourself came along and explained what I meant ;))

I referenced the Arab world earlier as that is geographically the case. But really, Sumerians discovered nothing or invented nothing.
Did they no discover one of the seasons? Winterians, Autumners and Springers, who everybody thinks invented the spaniel, discovered the other 3.
Guess what the Holidayers discovered?

The Yemenis came up with coffee.Look it up in wiki if you don’t believe me.And no; I didn’t write it.
I'll stick to what the National Coffee Association says rather than Wiki but cheers anyway;

Coffee grown worldwide can trace its heritage back centuries to the ancient coffee forests on the Ethiopian plateau. There, legend says the goat herder Kaldi first discovered the potential of these beloved beans.

And still remnants of the legend survive in names like Koffee Annan, innit?

I’d rather take the word of wiki than from a lobbying group for the American coffee industry.Thanks all the same.

Look it up! The beans came from Ethiopia true.But it was the Yemenis who came up with a brew which we could now call coffee in the 15 th century.

Apparently discovered in an Addis Ababa cafe by a lassie called Nette, but it was in a Yemeni, called Maxwells kitchen that milk and sugar was added tae make what we call coffee today.
Nettes Cafe and Maxwell's House are 2 of the best known coffees we have.
