Young 'Uns Racking Up The Wins

Kind of thought cleland would have been given a chance this season even as a sub
You have to wonder how his goal scoring record hasn’t given him a place in the first team squad now and then. It may be he’ll feature in a pre-season tour/camp this summer with a view to him stepping up? Having said that, Logan Jimenez impressed during last pre-season. It would be really good to see some homegrown talent emerging from the academy soon but I still maintain the scrapping of the reserve league was the single most shortsighted action in Scotland, in terms of getting experience for these youngsters.

Saw Cleland in the European game. He's nowhere near ready imo
Agreed.
With very few exceptions, most 18 year olds are not ready to play first team football.
Cleland has all the raw talent and potential to be a great goalscorer in his career.
He is a natural finisher.
However he is slightly built and needs to be playing regularly against seasoned professionals which I am glad he is now doing.
As he gets older and stronger and better developed, hopefully he can challenge for first team place, but that is some way off yet.
