World Cup

Argentina for me too I think.

I think the big athletic teams will struggle, so the teams that let the ball do the work will look good.

I seen a stat that says, Messi has played 993 games. The final would be the 1000th game if his career.

That'd be nice for him.

Gonna celebrate my new half nationality by backing the locals here, so come on Oranje, aanvalleeeeeennnn!

This is bad news for my hosts as I never back a winner 🥶🥵

Like to see England win it but can't really see it happening. You can usually count on Germany having a decent tournament, not sure they have what it takes to win the final though. Don't think Brazil or Argentine will even make the final, maybe France or Spain to take the cup home?
Hope Katar get drubbed in every game ....

It's a strange old tournament...no warm up...club football up to 6 days before it kicks off. Middle of the season. Insanely hot temperatures.

I think it points to Argentina or Brazil...probably Argentina.

Don't see Germany doing much think they might even get knocked out in group. They were honking in 2018 and Euro 2020 and I think they struggled in recent nations league. "Germany are always there or thereabouts" doesn't really stand up nowadays

That’s a very good point, the climate is bound to have an impact on certain teams. Reckon it’ll be the undoing of England, Germany and France in the end.

I fancy Spain to win it, but can see why many are going for Argentina or Brazil.

Brazil or Argentina.....probably Brazil.
France the current world champions should be a good bet as well but they have a lot of injuries.
England should reach at least the quarters, but they are not good enough to win it.

Looks like you can stulm get a drunk at the games....if you buy a corporate box for 19k 😗 shouldnt bother Scots fans as much as others as we cant get a drink at games anyway. Always have the fan zones for a pint for 9 quud though! Not my idea of a fun holiday.

There definitely isn't the same enthusiasm here in France as there's been in the build up to other tournaments. I think that's half down to the French team not having been in world-beating form recently and half down to the Qatar thing.

Apart from anyone else, Pogba is a huge loss for them. It was only after seeing a documentary on the last world cup that I realised how influential he is in the changing room with some brilliant motivational talk - an unofficial captain.

Hopefully Martin Boyle will play on Monday night, otherwise I'm not really that interested.

As for the tournament itself - likes others I'd say Brazil or Argentina, but I haven't seen enough of anyone to have a strong opinion.

Qatar moved the goalposts again. Must have been some bribes thrown about to get the World Cup. Another shower of corrupt cvnts.

I finally figured out a polite answer to the annoying question of 'why aren't you supporting England in the World Cup, then?'. Answer is I'll be supporting the nation of my birth, Canada. First game against Belgium on Wednesday, oh well....

The answer is simple, I want to be able to turn my tv on for the foreseeable future, probably 50 odd years 😩🤣🤪

Brazil for me, they look to have the best squad on paper.

England have a very strong squad too but their defence is a bit pish and they always seem to fall into the trap of trying to get their best players on the pitch to the detriment of any clear game plan.

I just seen a picture that apparently shows 137 players at the world Cup not representing the country of their birth.

So I zoomed in on some Scotland flags.
Cummings, Souttar, Boyle

David Wotherspoon!!!! Is he playing for Canada? Fair play.

Think Spoony in squad, but been out long time with injury. Also Scott Arfield, a hun but we'll forgive him....

Had a look at the squad after posting.
Think that's brilliant for him, wasn't ready to be a Hibs player, but got a hard time.
2 scottish cups, a league cup and a world Cup under his belt. Can't ask for much more as a mid table spl player.

Alphonso Davies and Jonathan David are both good players, hope yous do well 😁

Heats going to be a big factor.
Even though its the middle of November it was 36 degrees celsius in Doha today.
