Heard on the telly, or radio, it might not be as easy as that but it also said there's an extradition treaty in place.

I like Mexico :-)

He does have the right to appeal the extradition which at most imo will just string it out a bit longer. When he gets off the plane he is straight to jail anyway as he already has a 28 day sentence hanging over him.

Whyte arrested at Heathrow airport. Will appear in weegie sheriff court tomorrow morning. Barlinnie on remand for him, as he's proved he can't be trusted to appear by himself.

He is being jailed because he has a sentence from the high court of 28 days in jail already in place because he failed to turn up for a hearing and not specifically because he can't be trusted. Although, he can't be trusted.

I'd had either forgotten or got confused. Ok, 28 days for non appearance. Is the other (which I was thinking about) arrest warrant for an English court then. I just assumed a Scottish. But now that I think about it, it may be an eng.

He ain't getting out for a while! Home for xmas? Haha

It's nearly impossible to get any information on these arrests. All we've had to date are brief statements that a few named persons have been arrested and the charges they face. What's missing is anything of substance of the case against them. We know the arrests are related to the takeover of Rangers but what have the authorities got by way of a case? What is their corpus delicti?

Also missing is any media commentary or analysis. You would think the hacks would be all over this. Why not?

What is going on?

I for one would love to know why these individuals are being pursued with such force. Just how is the public interest being served by these prosecutions? I hesitate to say this, but could it be these prosecutions are driven by some hidden agenda?

All we know at the moment is that they are being charged with fraud in relation to the purchase of Rangers as was.

Craig Whyte is seen as the bad egg who ruined Rangers. It was all him and his wee gang. Murray was 'duped'. It must be so because he said it and a court found him and his board completely innocent of any wrongdoing. Apparently.

It doesn`t surprise me one single jot that the establishment are going to these lengths to nail Whyte. They blame him for their clubs downfall.

Why haven`t they chased up Charlie Green and Assam Ahmad with the same vigour? Or pursued Duff and Phelps for their involvement with them? That purchase was clearly a scam. It would mean shutting the Zombies down, that`s why.

I hope the whole sordid mess is brought out in court and the bigoted fuckers get shut doon for good.

The MSM in Scotland has shown itself to be incompetent at best. They couldn't cover a kids school book.

MSM have to be careful not to make any sub judicae comments or it could collapse the legal proceedings. Once it's over there'll be a blockbuster mini series

It's not mere incompetence. It's something more sinister than that.

Nah. The media run features, commentary, analysis, back stories, even editorials all the time on impending court cases without infringing sub judice rules. Witness the recent Angus Sinclair case.

Let's see what happens tomorrow and over the weekend. But so far, the silence from the media has been deafening.

thing is they are not giving any specific details of the charges, which they would be allowed to do.

Craig Whyte charged with fraud, etc. It is ALLEGED  that on 1st Jan he dipped David Murrays pockets and made off with a Fitbaw Club. In its place he left 1 Sterling.

I reckon they're sh'it scared to even print the story in case of the backlash from the Hun hordes, as it may come out that in the subsequent resale[of the assets] to Chuck by Duff & Duffer, there was even more fraud committed. ALLEGEDLY.

As much as I enjoy seeing the Huns squirm, I wish the authorities were as strident in their pursuit of the fraudsters in the financial sector.

Correct. The Huns have a huge social and cultural profile. But in financial terms, they are a small to medium size enterprise probably with the same sort of turnover as a fair sized hypermarket. And yet a few opportunist thieves caught stealing lead off the roof are being pursued with the full force of the law including extradition proceedings.

WTF is actually going on?
