Why did we bin Joma?

I think that's the interesting story in all this.

I can understand why American owners want an American sportswear company, especially one with big plans and part of a big group. One that is back on the rise again after a disastrous spell under Adidas ownership.

The statement is strange, why rip up a contract after four years with four years to run?

What happened? Did Joma running out of white socks last season infuriate the club?

Would you sign a 4/5 year extension and have any reason to include clauses to break the agreement at any time when something better came along?
If I was Joma I wouldn't be up for that. Being an expendable partner.

Either Joma really upset us last year, or someone has paid it out? I'm sure 5 kits wouldn't have been a part of the initial agreement so they have gone a little bit above for us. Always gave us unique kits.
Statement on the change makes it seem pretty amicable so I'd lean towards it being bought out? Are Reebok really committing that money to a growing dept with a Scottish club in the middle of an 8 year partnership?
I hadn't considered the American owners and American brand. I wonder if the Gordon's have paid it out. Not with the clubs money I'd hope/expect.

Weren't the stock issues because of Fanatics not placing suitable orders? Sure that was out there somewhere. I think we can take that away from Joma. They're capable of pumping out kits. (Not referencing socks )

I'm no complaining about the club or Joma or even Reebok coming in. It makes no difference to me, just find it a bit odd.

Our retail department has been a shit show for several years, both the online and in person versions.
Was that the fault of Joma, Fanatics or Club employees?
I've no idea - but carrying on doing the same thing and expecting better results..... Insanity.

As for long term contracts with a break clause?

Joma kits were massively understocked across the board, slow to replenish, badly sized, and not great quality. I reckon one or both of the first two points might have breached a contract clause and set Hibs up to go to tender.

I was happy enough with their designs fwiw.

ETA: I don't know what the responsibility split was between Joma and the execrable Fanatics but the lag was SO long that I don't think it can be all the latter.

Perhaps someone can ask at the next AGM? Club were keen to underline the parting was on good terms.

Joma were very hit and miss. You couldn't get everything I.e. gillets/jackets, certain training tops etc. As pointed out as well problems with replenishing stock of kits which simply isn't good enough.

Thus far I'm a bit underwhelmed with what we've seen from Reebok. Just a copy and paste job of their own kit template and the 'HFC' from last season splattered across plain Jane training gear.

He purchased a new Porsche shortly before he left us and joined Luton Town. Not sure whether he jumped ship or was edged out........
Only lasted 10 months at Luton, but now he's Director CCO COO CMO* at UAE Football Pro League.
I'd imagine the salary there will afford many many many new Porsches.

*That's not pidgin English, basically he's the top banana in Marketing , Operations, and Comms.

I liked the Joma kits but sizing wise hit and miss,I am xxl with Joma 3xl and on one occasion 4xl,but would be intrigued was it mutual parting of ways or did we have to buy ourselves out of the contract as there is a minimum of 6 month lead time to produce kit for new season so the reebok deal has probably been in the pipeline for close to a year
