Why Are We Letting Boyle Go?

I was accepting of it initially as his form had not been brilliant overall however yesterday again scoring against the Hun dogs. It just seems wrong we're not giving him another couple of years.

I'm all for keeping Boyle, but wouldn't be paying him the reported 10k for another couple of seasons.

Aberdeen won't be either

I really don't think he's going there, I can't believe we wouldn't offer him something.

I think he's going away.

I'd definitely match what Aberdeen are offering him. Could be a bit of cat and mouse between Hibs and his agent.

He is by far the best striker we have. We should be pushing the boat out to keep him unless we have someone else coming in and I dont mean Klidje....At 33 I doubt he will be expecting 10k a week

Announced he's leaving though, I don't think there's too much way back from that?

Maybe we have decided it's time and he's turned up the last month to shove it up us? 🤷

Hope not.

There’s always a way back. Seems unlikely, but ultimately I think letting him go is a mistake, especially when factoring in how poor we’ve been at recruiting strikers in recent years. It’s a worry for next season.

Doubt he’s shoving anything up Hibs, looks to still be enjoying himself and celebrating goals.

More likely he’s trying to prove he’s worth whatever he’s asking in his next contract, wherever that may be.

Rumoured that he was willing to take a substantial cut in wages, but Hibs (presumably MM) wanted to "lower the average age of the squad".
Poor decision if true.
If that's the case then it's short sighted, what's the objective? Having a younger squad for the sake of it is pointless

If he’s the highest earner he bloody deserves it? Worth another year but appreciate there’s multiple factors in play. Will go with my blessing whatever happens, legend.

If true, I wonder if David Gray, the man after all whose job depends on winning football matches, agrees with the Director of Football.
