What team is this?

Nearly picked this up in football nation cos I thought it was hibs - closer inspection revealed it was not, so it stayed on the shelf. Hard to see here but the team on the print has blue tops with white sleeves. Which piqued my curiosity - anyone know who it might be? This may be a fools errand - think they are made in holland so may not even be a British side

Crowd - 'Designed by...' T-shirts - T-Shirts & Sweaters - Copa Football

On first look it does look remarkably like the old Easter Road grandpa

That's what I thought even to the point of wondering whether something in the printing rendered green as blue - then I considered the grass :glassraise:

It IS Hibs.

I bought the T-Shirt in Football Nation on Lothian Road before going to Mallorca in July.

The close inspection in real life shows it to be mid 70s Hibs at ER.

Very Very Trendy even when a Chubby Cabby wears it!:applause::rollfloor
Do the strips look blue on yours?

If you're certain it's hibs I'm going back for one

Oooh, memories of climbing those steps and surveying the wondrous sight of Arthur's Seat and Easter Road laid before it...bleedin' knackering though :giggle:

I've just been round there to have a look M. It certainly looks like Hibs to me. I stopped short at paying 24.99 for a T shirt you could spit peas through.

I managed to track the picture down on the Getty website. The description is generic, "Football crowd, circa 1970's" but on close inspection, the strips are indeed blue so I don't think it is Hibs.

Excellent!! Where can I buy one?

although the guy has glaring resemblance to Des Bremner, I cannae remember our bizzies having pointy hats.

Dont think its Hibs likesay :hmmm

Hmm, i`d just started school in the mid-70`s and i cant remember if they wore pointy ones or not.....i didn`t think so but i was living in Stirling at the time and wasn`t sure about L&B...:glassraise:

It cant be Hibs then. Pity, coz that`s a quality picture.....:dali:

If you look at the search scroll down there is loads of clubs and countries but there is no mention of any Scottish club which makes me think its probably not Hibs. Still a smart t shirt so could always just tell folk it is.

crowd looks to big for any of the clubs theorised, but i'm guessing that is not their support - if the player running in the middle is celebrating a goal (and he may not) it looks like he's facing another section of the ground, so this could be an away match for whomever :detective:

I was thinking Reading and the player is Robin Friday.

cant find any evidence of reading sporting the arsenal / hibs template - do you know if they did?

I`ve been having a gander at this site....http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/English_Football_League/index.html....and the only ones that appear to me to come anywhere close to the picture ( from around the early 60`s - 70`s ) are Brighton and Ipswich, and even those aren`t 100% accurate. :dunno:

It also seems to be a dark blue, unless there`s been a bit of re-colouring going on....?? I dont know, it`s got me beat....:g:

I reckon it's Sheffield Wednesday from the late 60's/early 70's :hmmm

I agree - Sheff Wed definitely played in blue with white sleeves in those days. I remember as that was also my primary school team's colours

I think gold star goes on beefys jotter - that is surely it; blue socks vs brightons white and Ipswich hoops, the blue is much closer to the mark, and the kop looks right. It's gotta be the Wendy. Well done beefy :applause:

Site linked in the op has a 'shop' tab which tells you online and bricks and mortar retailers. If you're in Edinburgh football nation is on Lothuan road just beside the abc cinema (or whatever it s these days). In a less well equipped cultural centre like London, you may have to go online :smug:

Some good detective stuff on this thread.... :applause:

Only contrib I have is that it looks like a ground with a slope* to the side, see the way the lower part of the coppers' legs are hidden... did Sheff Wed have that?

Grass also looks unreal green in close-up, very probably some saturation going on there at some point....

* Remind you of any grounds you have known? :hmmm

would have bought one of those if it was easter road if any t shirt design types happen to be looking at this thread..

Me, too. It's unusual to see more adventurous and artistic football themed tee shirts. Pity it not the old terracing after all.

Pronounced slope at Hillsborough according to this thread and other google hits - 6ft from one end to the other. Pretty much seals it.

Pitches with slopes

Quality detection from the Bounce squad. Now, when do we start work on the Kennedy assassination? :detective:

I feel sorry for DZOK in all o' this.

That dafty is having wrongful conversations with Dundonians in the Spanish sun about the Cabbage down to this T-shirt. And it's no even Hibs!

Hee-hee

I can't belieeeeve it!!! as Victor Meldrew would say.

I'm gonna have to wear this as a jammy top now!

It was hanging beside a Hibs tee-shirt in fitba nation and i thought....2 for 30....ok.

What a donut!:banger:

Settle fella - it's still a quality t-shirt. For me, it was just too pricy unless it was Hibs, but if I already had it I'd be happy to wear it.

Can you not just become a bit of a Sheffield Wednesday fan , kid on you knew all along . We won't tell
