A club history, with in depth information on the formation of the club and the early years, Canon Hannon etc.

Alan Lugton's The making of Hibernian trilogy is,i would say, regarded as the definitive acount of the clubs early days.Sadly, its out of print and some of the prices quoted on the net are horrendous.

Ps sorry for being pedantic, but its Canon Hannan :fyi:

whoops Hannan. :approve:

Yeah I really want an in depth look on the founding of the club, St Patrciks CYMS and autobiographal info on Hannan. Not as bothered about contemporary stuff, more the 19th century. Ashame that book is out of print.

It may be out of print, but you can still come across it now and then other than online. I got a copy from a (now shutdown) bookshop in Glasgow of all places. Try contacting some Edinburgh based bookshops, worth a punt. It's the only book that looks indepth at the stuff you're looking for, and is excellent as a piece of social history of a part of Edinburgh's past that is all too often overlooked.
