What are your thoughts on Friday night football?

I used to be sceptical about Friday night football, but I've been won over by it now. Some great away trips including the 4-0 at Motherwell, a 2-0 at Ibrox and even that defeat at Tannadice last month.

Also think Friday's win over United was even better attended because of the Friday night factor. Only downside I can see is that Saturdays can be pretty boring.

So are you for or against Friday night football, or does it all depend on the game?

im all for it, the two Friday night games we've had this season against utd have been good nights apart from the result on the away one. I just think Friday nights under then flood lights defientely adds something to the atmosphere

Nope. Sorry...I'm a traditionalist when it comes to football.
3.00 on a Saturday afternoon or 7.45 on a Tuesday/Wednesday night please.

Think its my most prefered kick off time.

Finish work, straight to the pub, take in the game and then you have the whole weekend ahead.

I don't think the atmosphere would have been as good if that game had been 3pm Saturday for some reason.

Was off on Friday so had plenty time to make my way through, not sure that would be so easy if it was a regular fixture. It is cracking for the bigger games, if we could get that size of crowd and atmosphere everytime. Thankfully we now have players who thrive on the atmosphere, few seasons ago anytime we had a good turnout the players went into hiding.

All very well when it's a game at ER.

Imagine getting back to the SPL, and ending up in Inverness, Dingwall or Aberdeen for a K.O. at that time?

I like it even though it's a pain in the erchie when you live far away from ER as I do. The lights, the start of the weekend etc... all adds to the atmosphere.

I think it's great. Always liked night games and Friday is perfect with the weekend to look forward to and no work in the morning. It also seems to make crowds go up irrespective of TV, versus crowds dropping for Sunday tv games.

I prefer Saturday 1500 ko tbh.

Friday past was great under the lights etc but for me personally this was due to the result and performance, not the fact it was a Friday.

Their great if you wanna go out, before/after. Also much better when we win....dont fancy trip to Pittodrie/Inverness etc though

Happily see Saturday 3pm no more with all fixtures Friday evening. And I'd happily see our football season March - November.

They're only great for home games. It's impossible to get to loads of grounds without taking time off work. So it's a no from me.

I like them but, just to give the flip-side of the argument, who remembers this shambles of a performance, also on a Friday night v The Arabs (while experiencing free-fall under Butcher):

Hibernian 1-3 Dundee United - BBC Sport

Attendance 9,608

had forgotten all about that shambles..Haynes, Craig, Harris, Nelson, McGivern, Taiwo.. Collins on bench, no wonder we went down.

Farid scored for them I see

Love Friday night football, even away games. Not bothered about getting back from the north. Either drive back or stay over.

Less inclined to be in favour of summer football, what the feck would we do in the winter if there was no football? It's about the only good thing about Nov-Feb.

Agree with this wholeheartedly.

Winter is shite but for watching the Hibs.

I suppose as an alternative to Sunday or any time other than 3pm on a Saturday it's alright.

Literally any time other than Sunday lunchtime is better. I'd rather go on a Tuesday night.
