Watch and learn Tony...

That would go against his mantra of building players confidence up. Maybe a rocket up some of the hibs players arses would be better than some of the words mowbray has come out with recently in defending piss poor performances.:sad

Thats The Only Bad Thing About Mowbray He Doest Criticise His Players He Always Praises Them Win,Lose Or Draw ....I Know He Is Trying To Keep The Confidence High But You Still Need To Tell Them What Theyre Doing Right And Wrong

I hated Pearce as a player, but I like him as a manager. Talks sense IMO.

Tony should take note.

I kind of agree but not be too harsh too knock theyre confidence....hes leading the players on and they think they are playing ok but they need to rwealise

think pearce is a great guy his passion for man city is amazing he never wants them to waste one minute of their playing time and loves the fans.

Today IMO was a day for Tony to not protect..

I'll be surprised if Tony ever openly criticises a player in public. In private (or being called Derek Riordan) and it's a different matter, of course

Good point.:sad

Sorry for all you TM lovers, the man is out of his depth and till makes he makes his players accountable for their actions they will never get better. So TM thanks but no thanks for your efforts. PISSED OF IN CANADA

Im with Tony in not openly critisising his players in public,he can creativley criticise them off the park, which i'm sure he must, they're all in it together and i think Mowbray can take it on the chin,he always comes across as taking responsibility to me,never points the finger at the players,i think he got it wrong today but had a reduced squad to work with ,he's a LEADER win lose or draw and i'll stick with him for now(next 2 seasons at least):thumbgrin

It's pretty uncommon for ANY manager to criticise players in public.
Even those that do, claim not to.

Any decent manager in any business would not lambast an employee in public. They get their erses kicked privately, and platitudes put out in public.

I agree though, from all accounts TM does not want Deek to stick around. I'm just not sure exactly why TM is prepared to trade off the number of goals Deek is going to get, plus the goodwill (he knows Deek is a fans favourite) for the 'bonus' of getting shot of him.

I'd love to hear an honest opinion from TM but I don't suppose we willl ever be privy to all that has happened.
A sanitised version (agreed by all lawyers) will no doubt surface in time.

How do you know what he says to his players in private? Oh aye...you don't. For all you know he could gone ballistic at the players in the changing room, and may intend to give them it equally tight in training in the coming week.

Just because he doesn't criticise them in public does not mean that the players are not made accountable for their actions in a private capacity.

PISSED OFF (yet still supportive of the man who has got us into Europe, and two Semi-Finals in two seasons, with no money, and, as brought to the fore today, very few players) IN MUSSELBURGH
