Any other Virgin media customers on here ?

I've been told I have to do a software upgrade on my current V6 box to instal the new V360.
I don't need a new box box according to what they say.
Apparently my new remote control thingy is being sent to me on Friday.
Supposedly you can do this software installation yourself without an engineer calling round, but as I am not techy at all i'm not too confident about doing these things myself.
Anyone else doing this ?
Would be interested to here from any other Virgin Media customers on the Bounce if this installation is as straight forward as they say it is.
Might end up getting my nephew to help me with it !

Is your box made by Humax (it'll be on the label) I got a new box sent (Humax mini ie no hard drive) and did it the software upgrade on there . The upgrade didn't work on my old box till i got the new remote ( i got 2 new remotes so i can use the old box upstairs or whatever) its easy to do

We did this about one month ago. Once the remote arrived I just followed the instructions. Its more a firmware upgrade so the whole menu looks different. It does delete all your recordings and series links so thats worth remembering. Think went into Apps section and was highlighted. It was all on screen and think it stated what to do in leaflet with remote.

I did this probably about 2 years ago!

I just followed the instructions and eventually hit the right buttons in the right order.

About 6 months in it all stopped working. New virgin box, new router.

New router, with new ID and password meant everything techy in the house needed sign in updated.

The geezer who came to install my new virgin media box set everything up for me.

Can't say I've noticed too much of a difference though.
