Came away from the Music Hall rather disappointed last night. Roachford’s excellent voice was almost lost in the mix and drowned out by a ridiculous volume from the bass drum. Could barely hear the guitar. A nice run through their hits got much of the crowd on their feet though. Hue and Cry - excellent band, really tight but felt Pat Kane was under the weather and struggling to reach his usual vocal standards. Paid a very touching and genuine tribute to Michael Marra on the anniversary of his passing with “Mother Glasgow” though.

Got my tickets for Stiff little fingers in Newcastle next March. They're getting on a bit (this is their 50th anniversary tour) but still one of the best live acts around.

Cheekface at Art School Glasgow on the 18th

and

Fat Dog at The Old Fruitmarket on the 28th

I enjoyed the new albums by both, so that bodes well for the set lists.
