More than likely. Either that or ISIL didnt fancy taking on the biggest army by miles in the region. My gut says the former reason is the more valid one though.

We've been drip fed hostages for decades now, going back further than Terry Waite in the 1980s.

Does anyone have any idea how many Brits are currently being held hostage around the world?
