BBC News - Too much snow closes ski centre
There's a headline that really takes me back to the early 80's.
My School used to run a coach to Glenshee every Sunday from Jan-Easter. In 82,83 and 84 we had to turn back at Bridge of Cally a few times as the snow gates were down due to enormous drifts.
I also remember the Glenshee car park having a 20ft "cliff" of ploughed snow facing the Tiger run. They had to put fluorescent sticks up to warn people away from it.
One lad from my school always used to bring a "Ghetto Blaster" (U-30's ask yer dads!) to play on the bus, so "U2 live at Red Rocks" always comes into my mind at these times.
I've promised my Youngest a night in Aviemore and a day at Cairngorm on the Ptarmagin for his 12th Birthday in Feb. Cannae wait!
